According to Eucerin, Atopic Dermatitis is now the second most diagnosed skin condition worldwide.
It causes the skin to become raw and cracked through extreme dryness. This makes using regular body products really difficult, as there are a lot of ingredients that can exacerbate the problem.
Atopic Dermatitis
As you all know, I suffer with seriously dry skin in winter. Although I don’t have eczema or atopic skin, I do get quite itchy when I’m cold. My legs and arms look like shedding snakes unless I use an arsenal of products on them.

Eucerin Ato Control Bath & Shower Oil with 20% Omega, R139.99, was developed for Atopic skin. It will reduce inflammation and help prevent damaged to the skin’s natural barrier, as well as reduce itching. I use this in the shower every second or third day – depending on how dry my skin is.
Epi-Max Plus + Enhanced Moisturiser with 10% Urea, R42. The glycerine, paraffin and urea in this rich cream will make sure no moisture is leaving your skin.
Lush Honey Bee Bath Ballistic, R42.50 per 200g contains honey, aloe and rhassoul mud to soothe, condition and soften the skin. Honey also has great antiseptic properties, so is great for very irritated or raw skin.
Epi-Bathe by Epi-Max Moisturising Bath & Shower Oil, R35, contains evening primrose oil, vitamin E and lavender essential oil to hydrate and calm dry, irritated skin. The subtle lavender scent is great for a bath before bedtime!
