Sabertooth Motorsports (STM) proudly supported by Castrol Edge participated in the opening 2017 Sharjah Rally Round One in Al Dhaid Sharjah (U.A.E). The event was organized by Emirates Motorsports Club in Collaboration with ATC UAE.

Racers participated in several categories, including class (T-1), and the categories (N) (S), (T-3), and (FWD). The rally consisted of (2) two stages which were repeated three times. The event offered (16) teams from across the Gulf the opportunity to compete in a challenging off-road Rally competition. The level of competition was high, with very experienced WRC drives and Dakar veterans.

Privateers Sabertooth Motorsports; are participating in local events to gain race experience and test the reliability and performance of their Land Rover Bowler EXR, our focal target being World Cross Country Championship in 2017, with a long-term goal of the 2019 Dakar.

There is no tougher racing series than the “World Cross Country Championship”. With its soaring temperatures, abrasive dust and sand, massive inclines and matching descents, cross country racing is the toughest proving ground for man and machine. Hour after hour, day after day they run Castrol Edge without hesitation. Its protection and consistency under the stress of motorsport keeps them in the game with an edge versus competitors as it help push their performance beyond its limits.

Whether it’s World Cross Country Championship, National Championship Buggy racing or turbocharged street engines, bearing and finished surface wear are now things they hardly consider. Having made a decision to increase the hours between mandatory engine rebuilds, their engine builders were nervous.

The result? Not only are they seeing the significant reduction in wear of bearings and critical valve train components continue over the longer period, they are also seeing higher levels of cleanliness in temperature effected areas like piston crowns and gudgeon pins. The added ability to choose lower viscosity oils for power increases, while still maintaining protection, is a true testament to the capabilities of Castrol Edge.

As you enjoy their short video, you will share their podium (3rd) third class position and also recognized Castrol Edge is not just an oil, it’s liquid engineering!
