POLAR BEAR - Spy on the Ice
Narrated By David Tennant. Award winning filmmaker John Downer pushed the boundaries of traditional natural history when filming Lion - Spy in the Den when he created the famous Bouldercam. Other award winning and successful series followed including Elephants - Spy in the Herd, Bears - Spy in the Woods and Tiger - Spy in the Jungle featuring the many other specially developed spy cams including the Tuskcams and Trunkcams (used with the help of their elephant assistants), Dungcam, Plopcam and the Magicam. Now for Polar Bear - Spy on the Ice John Downer has created a brand new set of 'spycams' in order to capture the polar bears in Norway on film.
This incredible story charts the challenges facing two polar bear mothers with cubs as they face their first summer. As they emerge from their den on a remote Norwegian island, the families are followed by the covert devices - 'Blizzard-cam', 'Snowball-cam' and 'Iceberg-cam'. Backed up by Snowcam and Driftcam these state-of-the-art camouflaged cameras reveal the extraordinary curiosity and intelligence of the polar bear.
