Office Fitness and Why It Is Important

Nowadays, many people work in offices or at home. The bottom of the line is physical activity reduces and this leads to the beginning of so-called “jellyfish lifestyle”. You slowly glide on a chair, to the couch and after that again in a chair.

It comes as no surprise that sitting or slow-moving lifestyle leads to the problems of the cardiovascular system. It is self-evident that because of the lack of physical activity decreases the tone of the heart, and even at low load you won’t avoid shortness of breath. In addition, when a person is sitting at the computer, the blood stagnates in the legs, causing varicosity. It is necessary to change the position of the body at least every hour. Another threat are back diseases like: scoliosis and osteochondrosis. To add to its wrong nutrition and we have back and stomach problems, neck pain, depression and lack of mood.

“Jellyfish lifestyle” must be compensated by physical activities, practicing at least morning, however, what better is to visit a gym or fitness club on a regular basis.. Even the lightest jogging in the morning around the house are able to offset the problem of a sedentary lifestyle.  To make it as a rule to sit properly on your desk sits or work place. Ask to give you good sit, orthopedic chair, for instance, work place must comfortable; chose a chair that gives a back support.

The exercises here are a must, so no matter what kind of job you have, don’t forget to take a break every half of an hour and to stretch your muscles, to move around your body or even to take a little walk. This helps to inject oxygen to your muscles, release tension from your back and neck, here is no secret that the brain needs oxygen as well, so little exercises and breaks are for the best. Besides, short breaks are good for your productivity, physical and mental health.

The main thing is to give a break for the eyes: refocus them from the screen of a computer and look at different objects, to look at the window or refocus eyesight at a further distance away; this refocusing will help the muscles of the eyes.

Whenever you can, use stairs, if they are in your office or the place, where you live.  Do your exercises for neck and back; moreover on a lunch break you can visit a massage salon or gym to tone up. Take part in strength, stretch ad aerobic programs to improve your body and general mood.

To help your body and back, in particular, just place the right leg over your left knee, then slowly turn towards the right, hold for five seconds, feel the stretch and relax. Repeat that several times and your back will be fine.

Forget about habits like crossing your legs, bending your head down at the computer, because this may cause neck pain. Do you need this? I doubt it. However, to stretch your neck, follow the instruction: slowly roll your head towards to your chest, to the sides and to the back.

As for shoulders, roll them around about 10-15 times from time to time, for instance every 3 hours. This must help to release tension. While you sit, ensure the chair is stable and unable to move; place hands on the chair edge next to the hips; move hips in front of the chair with feet planted ahead; lower the body until elbows are at 90 degrees; push back up. If that’s possible, listen to music at work or a during lunch break, to provoke your body to move more. What is more, another part of the body needs training, body parts like buttocks or “juicy doubles”. The easiest exercise is squeezing buttocks, sitting in a chair, one minute for one buttock.

If you don’t have an opportunity to give up slow-moving lifestyle, at least you need to focus on proper nutrition. It is useful to have apples, apricots, oranges, pears and berries as a healthy snack.  Don’t forget about dried raisins, they are highly recommended; besides, they are tasty and healthy at the same time. As a matter of fact, pay attention at broccoli (it is very useful, so deal with it), corn, artichokes, peas, beans and lentils; porridge is also rich in fiber. Try to leave out high-calorie meat and muffins, they can be tasty, but they are not good as everyday food.

One should remember that incorrect posture at the working place may and long-time sitting may lead to medical problems like repetitive stress injury. Despite of all, even if you do certain exercises working at the computer, this I not enough for your body; try to train as much as you can… Attend local gym, yoga classes or fitness lessons and in this case your body will be thankful.
