This fairly large release of mote than 100 wines features southern France and South Africa.
Southern France contains several AOC wines from Minervois, Fitou, Roussillon, Corbiere just to name a few. The region’s vineyards cover more land than all of Australia’s combined.
Southern France excels in red wines due mainly to its terroir and prices are much lower than those of the more famous regions of the country. In short, they represent good value.
South Africa’s wine industry produces some inexpensive entry-level wines, but also very high quality ones, at reasonable prices.
My recommendations are:
Spirit
Glenfarclas 15-Year-Old Highland Single Malt, J and G Grant
Scotland
Sweet dried fruit aromas dominate the nose of this very elegant and mellow whisky. The alcohol content (46 per cent ABV) does not impart a burning sensation that is experiences by inexpensive brands.
