Publicis UK chief Guy Wieyn has been promoted to the role of chief executive of Western Europe of Publicis Worldwide.

Wieynk will continue his current responsibilities while working to strengthen Publicis' digital capabilities and manage the overall performance of its agencies across Western Europe.

Since his arrival in January Publicis UK, has gone through a fundamental change including; the move of digital agency Poke into the newly renovated offices on Baker Street, the hiring of Dave Monk as executive creative director of Publicis London from Grey, and the acquisitions of shopper marketing agency Vivid and creative content agency August.

Wieynk said he was “honoured” and “delighted” to be asked to lead Publicis Western Europe through its business transformation.

He added that there was now a “new level of what we can offer our clients, and the opportunity to deliver this across all of our agencies, growing stronger synergies is too great”.

Arthur Sadoun, chief executive of Publicis Worldwide said “bringing together these Western Europe markets under the remit of Guy will ensure greater collaboration and a broader and more streamlined offer to our clients."

Before joining Publicis UK, Wieynk was vice president at AKQA where he helped build the agency’s global reach over a 16 year period.
