The 10th Asian Film Awards 2016 (AFA 2016) is one of the most awaited major award ceremonies for movies in Asia. The Asian Film Awards is touted as “The Oscars of Asia”. The Asian Film Awards are presented annually by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society to recognized the excellence of the film professionals in the film industries of Asian cinema.
This year, the academy received around 1,600 entries from 32 countries, but only few could make it in the final nomination list. The Asian Film Award Academy announced the list of nominees for the 10th Asian Film Awards early this month. The winners will be revealed on March 17th at the Venetian Theater, Venetian Hotel, Macau.
Yoo Ah In’s blockbuster film “Veteran” received 4 nominations: Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Editing. Yoo Ah In’s other hit film “The Throne” (“Sado”) received 2 nominations for Best Original Music and Best Costume Design.
Yoo Ah In will be awarded the “Next Generation Award” by the Asian Film Awards this year, thanks to his two successful films “Veteran” and “The Throne.
Yoo Ah In is invited to attend the AFA ceremony night in Macau on the 17th, and his agency confirmed that he would come to the event to receive the award. Yay!
