Additional Majors & Tryout FAQs:

Q: Does my child have to try out?

A: No. They only need to tryout if they want to be considered for the Majors draft. If they do not ,they can register for a different division (AA or AAA). The Majors Division is a highly competitive level that continues to stress fundamental baseball and introduce more advance baseball techniques and strategies. It may not be the best choice for all players. It is predominantly 11/12 year old players with only very few 10 year old players selected.

Q: How long are tryouts?

A: Players are taken in groups of ten so the first ten to register in the morning go first. Each group takes approx. 45 minutes to an hour give or take and we run one group at a time.

Q: Does my child need to be at tryouts at the beginning?

A: Tryouts run until the last player has been evaluated. If no more players need evaluation, tryouts will end. It is in your best interest to be there at the beginning time listed as you may show up towards the end and find no one there. At check-in we can give you a rough time estimate for when your player’s group will be evaluated so for example, if they are in the third group of players you could leave and come back later as long as you have checked-in.

Q: How many tryout sessions does my child have to attend?

A: Your child only has to attend one tryout. Only one tryout per player. They cannot attend another once they tryout.

Q: When will I know if my child has been selected for a Majors team?

A: The draft for the Majors division takes place later in the Fall. Players who are selected by a team will be contacted by their coach after the draft. Those who have not been selected will be notified by the league and the player will be placed in the appropriate Minors division for their age (AA or AAA).

Q: My child is injured and cannot attend tryouts? What can we do?

A: Any player who is physically unable to tryout but wants to have their name added to the Majors draft eligible list needs to come down to tryouts and show a doctor’s note to the league. There are no private tryouts offered at a later date.
