My role of “Programmer” involved working mostly within Isadora and some side work within xcode. My work in Isadora encompassed the organizing of the video inputs and outputs. The effects that I created were:
Background color changing
Silhouette color changing
Silhouette effects (bubbles and lines)
Mini-multiple person effect
My biggest contribution to the project was the organization of the Isadora file, making it possible for a button system layout to be accomplished. I also worked on miscellaneous small tasks with my group members and felt that I contributed alot in various aspects.
I wish I had more time to work on the feedback element to our project. We created a ‘star system’ that was measuring the user’s movement. For each ‘star’ gained, the user met a higher amount of movement. While this is partical and was successful, looking back more user feedback could take this project to the next level.
I am very happy with how this project turned out and would love to see it used in the future at school events. It was a blast learning how the human body can be a complex/unique input for a computer system, and how to build something focusing on user experience.
Here is the Tumblr and YouTube pieces created by my group
