The aim of the Ph.D. Program is to develop graduates having good knowledge and research training in classical and emerging areas. IIT Jodhpur hosts Ph.D. program in all areas of technology, engineering, sciences, and humanities and social sciences. For the Semester commencing from December 2014, applications are invited in the following disciplines:
Biology: Ph.D. positions are open in following areas- Bio materials and Cellular & molecular neuroscience
Chemistry: Ph.D. positions are open in following areas- Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modelling, Computational Biophysical Chemistry, Dye Sensitized Solar Cells, Photo-catalysis
Computer Science and Engineering: Ph.D. positions are open in following areas. Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning, Image and Video Analysis
Electrical Engineering: Ph.D. positions are open in following areas- Wireless communication, Microelectronics, Power electronics and drives, Control Engineering
Humanities and Social Sciences: Ph.D. positions are open in following areasA. Economics: Growth and Regional Disparity, Urbanization in India, Network Economics
English: Literature and Environment/Ecocriticism, American Literature, British Literature, Post-Colonial Literature.
Philosophy: Specialization in Philosophy (Allied areas: Psychology/Cognitive Science)
Mathematics: Ph.D. positions are open in following areas- Dynamical Systems with sufficient background in Analysis and Differential equations
Mechanical Engineering: Ph.D. positions are open in following areas- Dynamics of turbomachinery/ Rotating Machines, Flexible Robotics, Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems, Nonlinear Oscillations
Physics: Ph.D. positions are open in following areas- Astrophysics, Experimental and Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Information and Quantum Optics, Particle Physics

Applicants are requested to use the following link to fill and submit the application form online:

For admission to the 2014-15 Second Semester commencing in December 2014, this online link will remain active till 8 November, 2014.
Applicants are required to pay the processing fee of Rs.300 for General and OBC applicants and Rs.150 for SC, ST, and PD applicants online while submitting the application form. Applicants are requested to send online generated summary sheet and final submitted application duly signed along with a copy of GATE, NET, CSIR, UGC or NBHM score card to the address given below latest by 5 PM on 12 November 2014:
