COMMENT: As the frantic Search And Rescue/Recovery (SAR) for the missing MH370 enters its fourth week, a disturbing video clip displaying alleged misbehaviour by AirAsia Indonesia cabin crew has surfaced.

The 2:51-long video, allegedly filmed aboard an AirAsia Indonesia flight on Aug 23, 2012, posted on Lepak TV (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151911253296338&stream_ref=10) is being shared in Facebook (FB), the world’s most populous social media network.

In light of the MAS Boeing 777 ending its flight in the Indian Ocean with 239 passengers and crew on March 8, as described by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, it will do well for all not to treat indiscipline and misbehaviour on board any flight lightly.

Yes, it’s fun but what if and when something goes awry?

Flying should be taken seriously with discipline and safety utmost in the minds of all on board.

Instead of mixing politics with business, going after an AirAsia X senior first officer for posting logical comments on MH370 in his personal Facebook account, it will do well for Tan Sri Tony Fernandes to concentrate on keeping his own house in order (http://www.theantdaily.com/news/2014/03/26/airasia-has-no-business-curbi…).

Fernandes and AirAsia owe it to the airline industry and potential passengers to clarify and explain…

This video clip is certainly much more worrisome than AirAsia’s recent suspension of one of its pilots that is akin to challenging the constitutional rights of Malaysians to free speech.

Statement from Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, AirAsia Executive Chairman and Publisher of Travel 3Sixty magazine

SEPANG, 5 April 2014 – With deep regret and remorse I would like to sincerely apologize for any offense caused by the Pilot’s Perspective article in the latest issue of Travel 3Sixty magazine.

The section is a monthly column on aviation written by Capt Lim Khoy Hing, a retired pilot who formally worked with AirAsia as well as Malaysia Airlines and written books on aviation industry.

As a monthly contributor, Capt Lim prepared all of his articles months in advance before the magazine goes to print. Unintentionally and regrettably, the current issue carry an article that discuss about GPS and Radar, which was printed a month before its issue date.

We’ve addressed the issue and have improved our editorial approval process to ensure this does not happen in the future and ensure that all content in the magazine is consistent with our brand values. A disciplinary action will be taken to the editorial team as well.

We are removing the magazine from all of our flights on all AirAsia aircraft immediately. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and friends of the recent aviation incident.

This is a truly difficult time for the nation and words cannot describe how I personally feel of this incident. It truly saddens me that this article was released at such an inopportune moment.

Again, I repeatedly offer my sincere apologies for any discomfort this may have caused.

AirAsia apologises, says magazine not referring to missing Malaysia …

http://www.themalaymailonline.com/…/airasia-official-apologises-says-magazi…‎

1 day ago – AirAsia apologised and said that copies of its magazine with the offending remark have been removed from all AirAsia flights. —

HOW INSENSITIVE!

In the magazine, you will read:

“Rest assured that your captain is well prepared to ensure your plane will never get lost. Have a safe flight!”

INSENSITIVE! That’s a mild word for what AirAsia Magazine has done.
