Did you know that January is National Oat Month? Now you do and you can say that you heard it here first! This round-up was designed today to celebrate that special occasion. Every month we are amazed to learn about out-of-the-ordinary celebrations that may align with our bee inspired mission. Oats, incidentally are wind pollinated, they don’t depend on bees for pollination, but they are great with honey and those that are gluten free are preferred by Joyce Wallace, RN and Health Coach, who created many of these oat based recipes that we are sharing here today. Cheers to you, to oats, to bees and to a happy and healthy new year to all!

I first published a no bake peanut butter ball recipe a couple years back and lots of you wrote about how much you enjoyed the recipe. This take includes flax seeds, a rich source of micronutrients, dietary fiber, manganese, vitamin B1, and the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid. The seeds come from flax, one of the oldest fiber crops in the world. Get the recipe for Raw Peanut Butter Balls.

Start your morning with this fabulous power porridge, scented with cloves and cardamom. I triple this recipe in a slow cooker for a few hours on low heat and it comes out great.  Get the full recipe here for Power Porridge.

My honey (the man in my life) woke up recently in the mood for Oat Bran Muffins. We went for a ride, searching for the perfect place to find one and came up empty-handed. I got motivated, got to the food store and whipped these up. I found these to be very filling and would suggest to make them in the smaller size.

Treat yourself to a customizable, skin-softening milk, honey and oat face mask that you can mix up in your kitchen. Your complexion will thank you.

Our quick overnight oats recipe includes Waxing Kara Eastern Shore Honey, so you can be out the door and ready for the day before you can even be overcome with anxiety about whether or not you really are living up to your potential. Get the recipe here for Overnight Oats.

These are, quite simply the most amazing oatmeal cookies I have ever eaten.

If you decide to make any of these recipes, please be sure to take a photo and share them with us using #waxingkararecipes on Instagram. We love seeing your photos!

Jersey Shore Blueberry Blossom Honey

5 out of 5

$18.00

Our Jersey Shore Blueberry Blossom Honey is straight from high bush blueberry on the Jersey Shore. Honeybees increase the yield of blueberry crops by 1,000 pounds of fruit per acre. Blueberry Blossom Honey offers a buttery texture that coats your tongue. We think there’s a slight blue tint to the light honey. Mild yet complex blueberry is accepted with subtle notes of jasmine and sour cherries. Eventually this honey will crystalize, but it will not impact the flavor.
