Brace yourselves. Here’s my feedback.

Yes, I’m as surprised as you are at my feedback turned out to be.

Maybe it’s just me, but large amounts of white text on blue background isn’t very comfortable to read for me. The classic black text on light/white background works better for me

Maybe a table of content would help with navigation? (with a floating “Back to top” button)

Maybe reword

Quote:How to get a free VPS?

to

Quote:How do I get a free VPS?

The latter just seems to sound better as a question (shrug)

Quote:Applications have to be submitted in the following format visible here. Applications in a wrong format may be ignored by us without any further notice

Quote:In addition to this normal requirement, If you have one VPS, you have to make 15 posts per month, keep your warning level below 50% and meet the special requirements of your VPS. Should you have two VPSs, you have to make 30 posts per month, keep your warning level below 50% and meet the special requirements of your VPS.

Special requirements are extra requirements you have to meet to keep your VPS. They are specified by our sponsors. Special requirements could be a review on our forum about the VPS or backlinks to our forum and the site of the sponsor of your VPS. You can see the special requirements for your VPS here.

Quote:Additionally, you have to fulfill the monthly posts requirement of 15 if you have 1 VPS or 30 if you have 2 VPSs.

You also have to keep your warning level below 50%

Some sponsors also impose special requirements such as including a backlink or writing a review. You can see the special requirements for your VPS here.

Quote:Low quality posts are posts that are either too short, go off topic, have no meaningful content (not a contribution towards the thread or make no sense) or violate the forum rules in other any other way. Another word for these posts is also “spam”. However not all posts that are low quality posts have to be spam. We prefer to say low quality posts instead of spam. Real spam nowadays is more or less advertising by bots for shady sites, illegal things and other really annoying things.

I think the “spam” part could be shortened a little.

Quote:What is a VPS?

Not sure if this question should be in the FAQ or not. Do a lot of people come here and ask “What is a VPS?”

Quote:I got my vps on DD/MM/YYYY, from which dates I need to make monthly posts?

Seems like it could be worded better, e.g.

Quote:Are monthly posts counted from the date I receive my VPS, or are they counted from the start of each month?

And the answer could be written like this

Quote:Your monthly posts are counted from the start of each month. Note that they are not counted for the month in which you receive your VPS

Quote:However we have our own terms and conditions that apply together with those of our providers because the providers and we offer this service for free

I don’t think you need to say “because…”. The sentence below should be adequate

Quote:However the terms and conditions of both FreeVPS and our providers apply.

Quote:We do not have to provide backups nor do the providers have to provide backups

could be better written as

Quote:Neither we nor the providers are obligated to provide backups

Quote:Why did some of my posts disappear/got deleted quietly some time after submission?

sounds a bit too wordy

Quote:Why did my posts get deleted?

Also maybe the answer could be reworded a little

Quote:Most of the time posts get deleted because they are of low quality. We encourage all our members to make quality posts instead of spamming all over the forum (read this). Another reason why they might get deleted could be that they broke the forum rules.

If you need any clarification, feel free to contact any of our staff, they will give you a brief reason why it happened and what you can do to prevent it in future as warning levels will be applied if there’s no change.

Quote:Sections of the forum that look empty are private forums where only you can see what you posted and staff replies to your threads. No one other than you and the staff can see what you’ve posted in a private forum.

The second sentence feels redundant.

Quote:Sections of the forum that look empty are private forums where only you and the stuff can see what you have posted

Quote:You can appeal in the Feedback & Suggestions forum by creating a thread and explaining everything as good and as detailed as you can. This is a PUBLIC APPEAL! Should the issue be of legitimate private manner contact the staff member that issued the warning.

Quote:You can create a thread in the Feedback & Suggestions forum and explain in detail why you think the warning is unfair. Note that the information you post there will be public.

If there are details you’d like to keep private, please contact the staff member that issued the warning instead

Quote:My VPS usage is allowed but due to its nature/my nature/users nature it attracts frequent attacks. Whose responsibility is it to prevent attacks?

Why can’t this simply be

Quote:Who is responsible for preventing attacks on my VPS?

or

Quote:My VPS keeps getting attacked. Can you or the provider help with this?

Quote:Contact Hidden Refuge or cw1998 in a private message.

Why not link directly to the PM form i.e. Hidden Refuge or cw1998?

Quote:If I own one or two VPSs and I wish to release one or both VPSs, what should I do?

feels a bit repetitive. Maybe you could consider

Quote:What should I do if I wish to release my VPS(s)

And the answer could be made a bit more concise

Quote:You can do so by contacting our Giveaway Manager by a private message or by email, stating clearly the VPS you wish to release.

Missing an “as”

Quote:We cannot control extreme cases such as termination of sponsorships by our sponsors

Quote:If you own one VPS: in case you didn’t make up 15 posts before our post counts you will be given a chance to make up missing posts. If you fail to complete the required posts during the given time period you will lose your VPS because you didn’t meet the monthly post requirement.

If you own two VPSs: in case you didn’t make up 30 posts for your two VPSs before our post count you will be given a chance to make up missing posts. If you fail to complete 30 posts but managed to make at least 15 posts you will lose your second VPS only. If you also fail to make at least 15 posts you will lose both of your VPSs because you’ve failed to meet the monthly post requirement for two VPSs.

Feels a bit repetitive and could be slimmed down a bit.

Quote:If you didn’t fulfill the monthly posts requirement, you will be given a chance of make up for the missing posts. In the case of you owning 1 VPS, if you fail to complete the 15 required posts during the grace period, you will lose your VPS.

In the case of you owning 2 VPSs, if you fail to complete the 30 required posts but managed at least 15 posts, then you will lose your second VPS only. If you can’t even make at least 15 posts, then you will lose both VPSs.

Quote:Warning level is what it says it is. If you violate rules you get warnings. The warning levels shows how many warnings you’ve received and their impact. There is no special calculation formula for warning level. Depending on the offence we decide how much warning level is given.

The wording feels a bit odd. Also, might be good to include the bad things that will happen to you at certain warning levels.

Quote:Your warning level is increased when you violate rules. There is no special calculation formula for determining warning level – it is decided at the discretion of the forum staff.

Having a warning level above 0% means that you won’t be able to apply for a new VPS. Having a warning level of 50% and above means that you will lose all your VPSs. Finally, having a warning level of 100% means that you will be permanently and immediately banned.

Quote:If I win a VPS, I have more than 55 score, and more than 30 posts, but I made these 30 posts in the previous month then do I have to make additional 15 posts in this half month or it isn’t necessary?

Do we need this question? Seems like it’s already answered in a previous question about monthly posts requirement.

Quote:How do I get started with a VPS?

Not sure if these questions are within the scope of FreeVPS FAQ which in my opinion should revolve around using and navigating the FreeVPS site as opposed to questions on using VPS.
