The owner of TorrentHound reveled that the shutdown was due to a number of reasons. He stated that increasing pressure from anti-privacy activists, few traffic on the website, less revenue and numerous bills pilling up lead to the demise of TorrentHound.
TorrentHound was originally founded in 2007 and gained massive following over the years. It’s user base expanded to million visitors per month and was consider one the most popular torrent websites until a few days ago. Although, the website couldn’t match the heights set by The Pirate Bay, Kickass Torrents, or Torrentz, but the shut down has come as a surprise to many torrent users all over the world.
