How to run Linkedin Ads to Target Business Clients

Is your business targeting businesses or thinking of running LinkedIn Ads?

In this video, I’m going to show you different ways to run LinkedIn Ads.

LinkedIn is the best place to target business professionals at any level.

You’re probably wondering who should use LinkedIn Ads.

If your business targets a certain professional, it can be for example, a certain role – say HR managers, CEO in a certain industry, retail, or even a certain type of  LinkedIn group.

The other question I get asked is how much budget should I have?

Put this way, LinkedIn Ads are more expensive than Facebook Ads in general, the cost per click is higher based on my experience.

What you should be asking yourself is:

How much is one client worth to you and,

How much are you willing to pay to acquire a client?

If $200 dollars per client acquisition that helps close $2K or even $20K recurring sales, would you be willing to invest in your ads? I guess you’d say yes.

However, if your sales are on a lower margin or price dollar, LinkedIn might not be a good fit for you unless you have other products or services that you can upsell.

So, my recommendation here is, you need to have a sufficient & adequate budget when running LinkedIn Ads. A couple hundred dollars probably won’t get you too far, in my opinion.

Now, let’s talk about what types of LinkedIn ads you can run for your business.

Inside Linkedin Ads platform –  the campaign manager, the layout is very similar to Facebook Ads- it has 3 levels- Campaign Groups, Campaigns, and Ads.

And there are 3 types of campaigns you can take advantage of.

First one is sponsored content,

it’s just like you’re reading your connections’ posts on your screen.

Inside sponsored ads, you can run ads in a form of video, image, or a built-in lead capture form.

The good thing about using the built-in lead capture form is LinkedIn auto-populates your prospects contact details.

Second one is text ads

The ads appear on the right-hand side of your LinkedIn interface. It’s like the right-hand side ads you see on the Facebook interface. For this type of ads, you can add 1 image and a short text.

The ads can be displayed in a square, horizontal, or long format.

The last one is sponsored InMail

It’s like when someone sends you a LinkedIn message. And it’s a way for you to deliver personalized messages to someone’s LinkedIn inboxes.

You can do this for a targeted promotion or attracting more leads or driving conversations with your prospects.

Apart from those, LinkedIn also offers Display Ads &  Dynamic Ads

And that is part of their programmatic advertising solution.

Personally, I love running sponsored ads. It has a lot of options you can use whether you want to Increase awareness for your brand

Entice users to click a landing page or a built-in lead gen form or

Generate more followers for your LinkedIn company page

Give it a try. Let me know what you think.
