How do you make the most out of the holiday season for your business?
Holiday season is a great time to relax with friends and families.
But it doesn’t mean your business has to stop completely, most likely you still have wages to pay, overheads to cover, that means, we still need to generate sales and revenue to keep everything afloat so that it doesn’t eat up your profit margin.
In this video, I’m going to share 3 tips that you can do during holiday season and get a head start for the new year.
Tip #1. Running a holiday marketing campaign
Holiday season is where most people spend money on gifts. Why not make a special offer or run a seasonal promotion to bring in more people to the door.
Ideas like one time only discount for 5 days, re-package your services for the following 12 months, offer a referral promotion, etc.
And take advantage of your email marketing, according to McKinsey, email marketing is three times more effective than social media, and the average customer order is 17% higher.
On average, retailers increase their email frequency to their subscribers by roughly 50% during November and December, compared to non-holiday months.
If you run a service-based business, whether you are in B2B or B2C, you can do the same thing as well, such as introducing a new offer, new service, cross-promoting other services you have, or running a webinar to your database.
You just have to make sure what you offer is personal, appropriate and relevant to your clients or customers. Be creative with your ideas!!
Tip#2. Having conversations with your existing clients
During the holiday season, some businesses get a bit quieter, if that’s the case, why not pick up the phone and arrange meetings with your clients or even hosting an event.
Most opportunities occur through conversations, get to know your clients business better, build personal relationships with them, show your appreciation with a car or a gift hamper, ask for their feedback, review how you can do differently to help your clients and ask for a referral. Pretty good, huh?
If you are hosting an event, be sure to create an event that will tie into your products or services in some way.
Tip#3. Develop your marketing strategy ahead
Plan, plan, plan – if growing your brand or client base is important to you, you definitely need to plan ahead with your marketing strategy. Never wait till the new year cos it might be too late.
Your plan requires execution and you will need to give enough time to work on execution. It might take a few weeks to even months to launch a marketing campaign.
It’s important to “Start early”. The key here is “Plan early. Plan often. Plan to succeed”
The best way to get started is to map out a marketing calendar, reviewing what went well in the past quarter or the past year, and think creatively what can be done better or differently.
Starting now and mapping important dates on a calendar can go a long way in helping you prepare, allowing you to take full advantage of your marketing plan and increase your client base and sales.
