It’s such a pleasure to work with gorgeous fabrics from Tilda – I always enjoy the soft colours and chintzy florals which are so charming, and the quality of the fabric itself is excellent, and a joy to work with. Very happily, the fab folks at Stitch Craft Create have sent me some delicious fat quarters from the Tilda autumn fabric collections, Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane, as part of a fab Tilda blog hop that’s been happening for a few days now – do check out the other blog posts in the series, there are some GORGEOUS makes:

Here’s my finished make for the blog hop:

I particularly like these two collections, especially the stronger navy blue shades and the notes of zingy orange in the fabrics I received.  I also adore the cute rabbits, of course! I’ve had such a busy time recently plus a problem with pain in my neck (don’t say it!), that I can’t quite remember how I came up with this plan for making a larger version of one of the appliqué daisies from Jen Kingwell’s book Quilt Lovely – everything is a bit of a blur! I think mostly it was because I wanted to do some hand sewing – with lots of TV sport to watch … AND I wanted to fussy cut these sweet leaping bunnies.

Somewhere along the line I got my measurements a bit wonky so had to put pleats in red petals to make the daisy sit flat! But I love the depth this gives to the appliqué and it looks great on the cushion, so I was really pleased to run with it.

If you fancy having a first go at quilting you can buy a kit of these gorgeous fabrics to make the Easy Peasy Quilt I designed for Stitch Craft Create – I am so pleased with how it looks made up with the Tilda fabrics:

So there’s a big prize up for grabs – a whole set of fat quarters from the collections and a Tilda pre-sewn doll over on the Stitch Craft Create on Facebook:

But I’m also giving away a couple of scrap packs (nice large scraps!) myself,  with the remnants from the fabric I was sent. Here’s are the fabrics you will get from me if you want to try your luck:

Just leave comment before 8pm on Thursday 18 August telling me what you would do with your Tilda scraps if you were lucky enough to win. I am happy to post world wide too!
