A fourplex in East Hollywood is slated to make way for new affordable housing via the Mayor's Executive Directive 1, according to a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed developments, which comes from applicant Thomas Beadel, would rise from a property located southwest of the US-101 Freeway at 539 N. Kenmore Avenue. Plans call for the construction of a new five-story building containing 65 one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
According to the project application, the new apartments would be restricted to rent by moderate-, low-, and very low-income households. In exchange, the project would be eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than allowed by zoning rules.
Stockton Architects is designing the project, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure clad in painted stucco, similar to other ED1 developments proposed by Beadel.
