Chloe continued to bad mouth Nicole in order to keep baby Holly, while Hope ran from Detective Raines and Stefano made his final goodbye…sort of.
Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Sportsgirl from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Stefano’s finale, Chloe’s treatment of Nicole, Steve and Kayla’s upcoming nuptials and more…
Rate Stefano’s finale farewell from 1 (awful) to 10 (perfect).
Sportsgirl: I would say a 5. It was really nice to see Joe Mascolo again considering his passing. I am glad they mentioned ahead of time his not speaking and I didn't mind that, but I thought they needed to add some Stefano flashbacks.
Jack: How about a -20? I was really disgusted with the show using a very ill Joe Mascolo for the purpose of propping Rafe/Hope. And now Shane and Steve can be added to the list of corrupt law enforcement agents covering up Hope's crime. Double ugh.
Christine: I would have given it a 7 if they had let the Phoenix escape one last time. That felt like a fitting send off, but having Shane “pretend” to be Stefano in order to get Hope off for murdering him was a horrible plot twist.
Does that mean Hope really murdered Stefano? If it plays out the way it appears, then I’ll give the whole thing a 3 at best.
Chloe said that given Nicole’s past, she would never change enough to be a good mother. Is there any chance that she’s correct?
Sportsgirl: No Chloe was wrong. Even though Sydney was not Nicole's, she was a good mother to her.
Jack: If Nicole was written correctly, not a chance. But I have this feeling the writers put words in Chloe's mouth that suit their dubious vision of Nicole.
Christine: What a hypocrite! If Chloe felt that way about Nicole, why did she get pregnant with her child? I think Nicole’s going to make a great mother, if she’s every actually given the chance!
Which is the better plan, have Sonny try to negotiate a truce or kidnap Sonny and use him as a negotiation tool?
Sportsgirl: Have Sonny negotiate a truce. He doesn't have to keep it a secret, can tell Brady, Nicole, his Dad etc..They could certainly help in this instance.
Jack: Enough violence and kidnappings! Let's see Sonny stop being a pseudo mob boss and actually negotiate a truce while working to expose all the troublemakers.
Christine: I do wish that they’d give Sonny a chance, because there’s been far too much violence. However, I don’t see anyone being able to talk Deimos out of anything, especially after he’s gone this far with his plan.
I also don’t see Deimos caring if Sonny gets killed in the cross fire as long as he gets his key.
Are you looking forward to Steve and Kayla’s latest wedding?
Sportsgirl: Yes I am. This show needs more love & romance and what better than this couple that was almost destroyed.
Jack: Yes. I still love Steve and Kayla even though I'm not happy about Steve lying to her to suit the horrible Hope story.
Christine: Yes! There’s not nearly enough romance these days on Days. I just hope the vows are fantastic because given the low budget the show seems to be dealing with, I doubt it will be a big event.
What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?
Sportsgirl: I am not enjoying the Baby Holly story at all. Why is it necessary to tear down Chloe just to make Nicole look good? They should have left it as Chloe wanting to keep the baby away from Deimos and not have Chloe look crazy.
Jack: In case it’s not clear, I was really disappointed in this Stefano storyline. Also Raines being incompetent was just silly.
Christine: Shane pretending to be Stefano ruined that storyline for me.
Then there’s Chloe being so determined to keep Holly that she’s willing to tear apart her best friend to make it happen.
And Austin popping up at the ball for no good reason was annoying.
What was your favorite quote, scene, or story from this week on Days of Our Lives?
Sportsgirl: I enjoyed Hope with Hattie in the hospital. Hattie is a great character that brings more levity to the show. I loved the way she tried to stall Raines
Jack: I liked seeing Steve and Kayla be sweet and romantic with each other.
Christine: I actually liked Chad and Gabi’s conversation while they were locked up together. I appreciate that they’re honest with one another, that doesn’t happen much in Salem.
