Boy Juma Boy was buried at 4pm at his home in Vanga, Kwale county. The burial was attended by hundreds of mourners.

The late senator was buried under strict Islamic traditions, with his body first taken to a local mosque for prayers.

Boy Juma Boy died on Sunday, February 12, at Aga Khan Hospital while undergoing treatment.

Among the leaders who attended the burial of popular Coast politician was Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga, Wiper Kenya leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.

Several parliamentarians and members of the county assembly were also present at the burial.

After the news of his death was announced several Kenyan leaders mourned the departed senator.

Among those who mourned was his party leader Raila. The former Prime Minister mourned the senator and described him as a great orator and bold ODM soldier.

Boy Juma Boy became the youngest MP at some time in 1984 when he succeeded his father, the late Boy Juma.

He was re-elected in 1988 and was at some point a KANU chief whip.
