Make sure your web browser or mobile device can support our latest security update

At TSheets, we love our customers and we strive to treat them the way we would want to be treated. It’s our goal to provide a premium product, and this means we follow certain guidelines for data security. To continue keeping the data our customers have entrusted to us safe from online eavesdroppers, we will be making a change to TSheets that may impact your use of the service.

When working with web browsers, mobile devices, and other fast-moving technology, the only constant is change. New development and faster computers means that technology that was considered high security last year is no longer secure this year.

The short version is that older browsers used older encryption technology to keep data secure. During the past two years, these older encryption protocols (SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0) have gone from being considered secure to now being considered weak or insecure. Certainly they’re no longer good enough to keep out the snoops! As a result, we phased out SSL 3.0 support in 2014.

Beginning August 25, 2015, TSheets will phase out support for TLS 1.0, and will only support TLS 1.1 and newer.

How does this affect you? If you are a customer or partner of TSheets, the software you use to connect to our services needs to be up to date, or it may not connect – instead it will appear that TSheets is “down” until you update your software. This affects all users who connect to TSheets using web browsers, mobile devices, or any other software which acts as an SSL/TLS client.

Check Your Browser and Mobile Device Compatibility

Finding out exactly which browsers and operating systems support newer versions of TLS1.1 is a bit of a pain, so we did it for you! Be sure to test the web browser or mobile device you use to access TSheets to determine if you need to take action.

This is the message you will see if your browser/device is up to date:

This is the message you will see if your browser/device needs to be updated:

You may run into the following scenario (which we found on iOS) when the results show that your SSL client is “Bad” or “Improvable” but your version of TLS is “Good.” As long as your TLS version is showing a status of “Good” then your browser/device is up to date:
