“Let’s go on an adventure trip” was the only thought that was in my mind while planning for my next trip. I knew I had to visit this place with whomsoever and in whatsoever conditions. Started with a different group and when the final day arrived we were just two girls. It had to be a crazy adventure trip. We had no bookings done except for the Bungee jumping.

This was a trip of lifetime and equally thrilling we booked the train tickets for Ranchi to Raxaul a day night journey and next evening we were at Raxaul. The train journey has always been fun being friends with co passengers and playing with kids around.

That evening we were at Raxaul and thanks to the co passengers they helped us to get a rickshaw and reach the bus stand. It was fun walking beside the abandoned railway track and get the rickshaw to go to Birganj, the buses for Kathmandu plies from here.

First thing first you need to stay connected to home and inform them about your whereabouts so we searched for a mobile shop to get a local sim.

Note: to get a local sim one has to have passport and photo.

The bus left at 8:00 pm and next morning we were at Kathmandu and during the journey we booked the hotel room at Thamel.

Thamel is the commercial center and has many hotels around within the area. It is famous among the trekkers coming form various places around the world. This place is cozy and safe and as we went in the narrow alleys we felt like a whole new different world.

We stayed at Trekkers Home, got freshened and by the time we reached the place it was 7 am and we also had the bookings done for Bungee jumping for the same day. The bus had left at 7 am itself and we missed it so no went to the office of the 'the Last Resort' and asked them to arrange for one. Unfortunately there was strike called for the cabs and buses and they couldn't arrange one. We were desperate to go as Bungee was the only thing that we were here for. So went to a travel guide shop and asked them to arrange a cab for us, finally got one and by 10 :00 am we left for the The Last Resort, Bhotekosi river.

The journey was really bumpy, there were stretches where there was no road. We could see the devastation caused by the major earthquake of 2015. The people and the government are still struggling to get things back in track. Finally after a 3 hrs journey we reached the spot and the view was appealing. There is the wild Bhote Kosi River flowing below and a 160m high bridge hanging above it. A small deck built and the happy volunteers. I was too excited to jump around there and my sister a little scared. Well I knew I was here to jump and win.

All happy and excited we had to fill up a form and get ready for the jump. After all the gearing we were ready I was the first one to go. Truly speaking I was not scared even a bit.

All geared up and fixed with instructions I was ready for the jump.

the depth

I was happiest here and could have taken the jump with a run only if possible.

I was so thankful to be here and doing this. This had been in my bucket list since a very long time and it was just the dream come true for me.

Could have lived it again and again and jumped 2-3 more times. Finally accomplished and was too happy to do it. After that my sister also took the jump and I must say she did an awesome job. So after this we had lunch at the resort and headed back to the room.

Next time I'm here I'd love to stay at this place.

That evening we were relaxed and moved around Thamel and enjoyed the night walk.

It was beautiful evening and we enjoyed the music from the streets itself as there are music clubs along the streets.

Next day we had to leave by evening 6 so for the daytime we decided to move around the city and shop a little. Here are the glimpses:

The entire trip was fun and adventurous and yes had a very unique experience. The best part of the trip was to watch the Super-moon rising above the Himalayan ranges. An experience of a life time and a view beyond imagination.

Soon will visit this place to collect more information, explore other corners, seek more adventure and feel the thrill.
