Ranikhet is a superb option for those who wish to get away from the chaotic crowds of the city of Delhi and enjoy some of the best of what nature has to offer man. Locate in the north western part of Rajasthan, this place was established by Rao Bikaji in the year 1488 and is resplendent with ancient palaces, temples and mysterious landscape. Bikaner is a great way to unwind and one can opt for a ride on the back of a camel. The best time to be here would be during the winter months of October through March. Do carry lots of sunscreen if you decide to pay Bikaner a visit.

38. Shoja -

For a change, try visiting this exquisite location in Himachal Pradesh instead of picking at only mainstream holiday destinations. Getting there is as easy as day with buses running from ISBT for Bhunter regularly. All you have to do is take up the trouble of enlightening the conductor about your stop at Shoja. It is your ticket to the quiet, away from the city lights and the monotonous din. You might not be fascinated with the initial rocky setup Shivpuri greets you with, but it gets better by the time you are near to the river bank. That’s where the green and blue meet. A rare sight these days with all the deforestation, the setting will make your camping dreams back to life. There’s rafting, bonfire, waterfall, everything you can think of, waiting for you to get involved in.

40. Kausani -

Right admist the Kumaon hills is a spectacular sighting of a serene land- it’s called Kausani.
