Imagine opening your school yearbook and seeing a movie!! Sounds pretty crazy, right? This year TIS’s yearbook will be full of just that, Movies! This is one very special way we can remember and celebrate this past year. This is accomplished by using an app called Aurasma.

Rather than explain it, let me show an example.

If you already have Aurasma on your device skip to step 3

Visit the iOS App Store or your Android App Store, search and download the Aurasma app.

Swipe through the tutorial screens, then press Skip on the account setup screen.

In the app, at the bottom of the screen tap

Then tap .

Type Tisyearbook in the search window

Select Tisyearbook and tap Follow.

Tap

Now point the viewfinder over the picture below and see what happens.

Double click on the video to make it full screen. Double click to close.

AP Exams - Thank you for supporting your student as they studied and prepared for AP exams. Most of the exams are done and now students wait patiently for the scores to be published. They will receive an email from CollegeBoard when their score is available sometime in July.

Spring Trips - Spring trips are next week where students will be learning about Chinese culture and have the opportunity to help with service work. Please remember these students as they travel, spend time with friends, learn, and serve.

End of the Year - After spring trips there are only two weeks of school. It is hard to believe the school year is almost over. This is when many students struggle to stay engaged. The most common things seen by teachers are late and/or incomplete homework.  Teachers work hard to make sure students stay engaged but with the warmer weather and spring trips teachers don’t have enough time to do everything.

Please encourage your student to finish their homework and get it turned in.  Another way to help is to encourage your student to get plenty of rest. I like to think of the three S’s, Sleep, Study, and Social life. Students need our input as they try to balance the three S’s. Most of our students think they can have all three but at most they only have time for two. Lets help them make wise choices with the three S’s.
