Event Description:

The World Health Student Organization (WHSO) at Wayne State University School of Medicine is comprised of medical students whose mission is to improve global health while gaining rich medical and cultural experiences both in the local community of Detroit and abroad. It is our organization’s goal to provide the highest standard of medical care at no cost to underserved populations around the world. WHSO sends teams comprised of medical students, pharmacy students and physicians to third‐world countries including Haiti, Nicaragua and Ecuador to provide international medical relief.

Each year, WHSO hosts a Health for the Holidays dinner in order to spread awareness about global health disparities and to raise money for our six medical missions to Haiti, Nicaragua and Ecuador. We have amazing speakers to discuss their insights on global health accompanied with a lovely dinner, live music, and a silent auction. All proceeds will go towards medications and medical supplies for each country we visit.

Hope to see you there!
