Obviously, marriage has its ups and downs but what keeps it going is how the parties involved are able to manage their home and beat all odds together.

While this not totally a celebrity kinda of affair, we are focusing on Nigerian celebrities and their marriages since they are in the spotlight and most Nigerians can relate to them easier.

Over the past few weeks, top Nollywood actress and a mother of one, Tonto Dikeh has been in the news over her infamous marriage with business mogul, Oladunni Churchill and Nigerians cannot stop reminding her about how she used to flaunt and brag her husband on social media.

Of course Tonto is neither the first nor the only Nigerian celebrity who has experienced such a backlash from fans and other social media users as the likes of singer, Tiwa savage and actress, Monalisa Chinda have had their own cups of same coffee in the past.

As at last year, Tonto was everywhere on social media hinting her fans and Nigerians about basically everything that was going on in her marriage and now that there is a trouble in paradise, she’s begging just everyone to stop writing stuff about her marriage on social media.

Here is the thing, as a celebrity, being in the spotlight alone due to your craft is an invasion of privacy so why use your own hand to create more damage to your reputation and your personal life?

It may sound hard especially in a century like this where most people would rather flaunt it all on social media than stay quiet, but there is a need for every celebrity especially the married ones, to ensure that their marriages do not become what the public can always feed on.

Thus, it makes it senseless to display whatever it is your wife or husband buys for you on social media, it is not necessary , people don’t really care as there are even more private individuals who have better things than such.

Why tell the whole world how romantic or how good in bed your spouse is? Must the world know your every moment?

Do you really have to let the world know how much money you or your spouse have?

As a woman, once you cannot place some level of privacy in your marriage, especially as a public figure, you are indirectly letting others in . At this point, lots of things will start to go wrong.

When two people are in love, they don’t need papers of the public to validate what they feel for each other.

What is the essence of telling the entire world how sweets and caring your spouse is and how you cannot live without them and then the next minute, everything come crashing on your face?

Take it or not, the most peaceful marriages are certainly not the ones you see on social media.
