The 59th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was not only historic but also one of the most controversial ever.

One of the highlights of the 2017 Grammys which took place on February 12th 2017 was when top singer, Adele beat the music queen herself, Beyonce to win the awards for “Album of the year”, (25) “Song of the year” for her hit single, “Hello” and “Record of the year.”

This has brought a serious war among Beyonce and Adele’s fans as well as music lovers across the world as they have been trying to compare Beyonce’s album, ‘Lemonade’ to Adele’s , ‘25’ to see which really deserved to have won the album of the year.

Remember, these three categories won by Adele’s ‘25’ album are basically the major categories under Grammys.

Again, Beyonce has so far won 23 Grammys in her career, yet the music diva has only won once under these major categories when she went home with the song of the year in 2010 for her hit track, “Single Ladies.”

Even though we thought and still think Beyonce should have won the album of the year in 2010 with her “ I Am…Sasha Fierce “ where she lost to Taylor Swift’s “Fearless”, that was not the only time we’ve had such a thought about Beyonce’s music as far as Grammys are concerned.

Now, back to Adele’s win in this year’s edition and Beyonce’s Lemonade.

When Adele did a comeback with her major hit single “Hello” in 2015, the entire world knew that the talented singer was ready to be seen and felt like never before. After which she dropped more hits back to back.

Like always, Beyonce broke all the major music channels across the globe, social media and music stream platforms when she dropped the first single from her Lemonade album, “Formation.” It’s no news that all the songs on her last album are nothing short of hits.

In all, did you know that Beyonce’s Lemonade album has so far only sold over 1million copies as against Adele’s 25 album which has sold over 8million copies?

Just may be, this time around is the right time for Beyonce to lose. She probably should not have lost to Taylor and others in the past but this time, Adele deserves all she won at the Grammys. Her ‘25’ album is fire!

To think that Adele dedicated all her wins to Beyonce, 2017 Grammys could not have been any better.

In her acceptance speech for the album of the year, Adele said at the Grammys:

“I can’t possibly accept this award,” she said. “The Lemonade album was just so monumental, Beyoncé. It was so monumental and well thought-out and beautiful and soul-bearing… we appreciate that. All of us artists here adore you. You are our light.”

Well, Beyonce’s younger sister and Grammy award winning singer, Solange feels different about Adele’s wins as she took to her Twitter page to share her thoughts saying:

Congratulations to her.
