This coming weekend, DixieLUG is setting up a display at the Model Train Show here in Atlanta. While it’s not an all-LEGO event, if you have a kid that loves trains (or just you – no judgements here), you should definitely come on out to the show. DixieLUG, of course, will have their trains running in their setup, so we will fit right in.
This is the second year we will be participating in the event with DixieLUG. We’re a much larger group now, so we’ll have tons of great new builds for you to check out. You should definitely come out to see us!
If you’ve never been to the Model Train Show, here is a short video they produced for their website:
Description of the Model Train Show

While it is a show to display, you can also expect over 250 vendors there from whom you can purchase all sorts of train items.
In addition, there are a few other events:
Raffle Layout
The Model Train Show is raffling off a full-featured layout custom built by local modelers, complete with scenery, model locomotive and train, and a Digital Command Control (DCC) system. Kid’s Operating Table

The 10′ x 10′ layout contains 3 trains which are run, usually at mach speed, by the kids. In addition to the trains, many operating accessories are located around the layout and the kids can operate these by pushing a button.
