Are you an artist, designer, or creative mid-career stage professional with ±7-15 years of experience in architecture, design, spatial practice, public space, and urban communities and are committed to (re)envisioning the future of the African cities? Then this open call is for you!
Cities play a foundational role in the cultivation of identities that define the human experience. As urban challenges intensify worldwide, the urgency for innovative solutions is particularly pronounced across the African continent.
Over the course of a year, 12 Awardees will participate in peer group discussions, masterclasses, and two intensive Lab Weeks — in Africa and the Netherlands, and the support of a €10,000 grant and mentorship to support the development of the proposed project that addresses the challenges and prospects of their city’s public spaces and communities.
The deadline for the submissions is 14 May 2024 at 17.00 Amsterdam time.
