There are certain people with real pull appeal. And in the drinks world, Iain McPherson (centre) is definitely one of them. Little wonder really. As an award-winning bartender, bar owner and all-round top bloke, he’s one of the most genial drinks boffins on the circuit.

So the fact that he’s one of the bright lights behind the Edinburgh Bar Show, the first international *trade event of its kind in Scotland is big news. In fact, it’s just the attraction needed to lure in a whole lotta fab bars, top brands and cool bods in its inaugural year.

Running over three days (Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th April), the EBS has been devised with community in mind. Hence a packed programme of events, seminars and bar takeovers featuring the likes of Kwant, Crossroads and Satan’s Whiskers from London, Ralph Lauren in Milan, Roda Hüset from Stockholm and several more.

On the talks, you’ll be able to hear from Kaitlin Wilkes Back and Kristine Bocchino as they reveal their big, long awaited plans for their inspiring new initiative created to inspire women, The Ada Coleman Project; Erik Lorincz shares the highs and lows of rebuilding Kwant Mark II; the team from Crossroads Bar talk carbonation and Red Light in Bristol partner up with the good folk at Equal Measures and Panda & Sons to talk about the all-important issue of building kick-ass teams and retaining them.
