eToro is the worlds largest social trading network.  And as such, there are millions of people to potentially copy trade.  So narrowing down who to follow can be a bit of a challenge.   I’ve put together a list of the top performing traders based on this page from etoro which tracks the top performers in 2016.

Here are some of the top performing traders on etoro.  This doesn’t include the one-hit wonders, but rather traders who performed over all of 2016 consistently.

So if you’re looking for some ideas on who to trade, here are my top picks.  I’ll be updating this page throughout the year as things change.

4exPirate

4exPirate aka Dawid Kowalski has been trading on etoro since 2013.  He’s generated a return of at least 10% each year, and trades using a low risk strategy.   Dawid is one of the traders I follow.  He’ll only open a trade when he sees an opportunity, and as such his portfolio isn’t filled with unprofitable trades.

For new etoro traders, he is one of the people I recommend they copy.  If you’re looking for long term consistent returns, this is a good trader.

Amstone

In 2016 Amstone saw a return of just over 11%.  He uses a low leverage, low risk trading strategy.  Much like 4exPirate, Amstone only seems to open a trade when the opportunity presents.   So don’t expect to see a high frequency of trades each week, and some weeks no trades will be opened.

SuperG

Graham Wiseman aka SuperG has been trading on eToro since 2015.  He had a great year in 2016 with a 50%+ return.   He primarily trades forex but also holds some stocks in his portfolio.  He hasn’t seen a negative month for the past 12 months which is very impressive.  He also has a low risk score of just 3 which is very good.   Definitely someone I’ll be looking to add to my portfolio soon.

Jaynemesis

If you’re looking for someone who trades bitcoin, then Jay is for you.   His portfolio consists of stocks and bitcoin.  I consider him to be a higher risk trader as he has a risk score of 6.    But he did manage to see a 54% return last year.  Whether he can keep this up is unknown and so far in 2017 he hasn’t see great returns.

Hanse-Invest

I like that Hanse-Invest has an average holding time of just 20 hours.  This means he isn’t holding trades open for a long time.  His returns aren’t huge month to month but he still managed a huge 30% return in 2016.  I’ll be watching him over the next few months to see if can can match this consistency.

MarianoPardo

Mariano is a stock trader who has also dabbled in Bitcoin.  If you’re looking to copy trade someone who primarily invests in stocks, then have a look at his stats.   He’s been trading since 2015 and has had positive annual returns each year.   He has a risk score of 4 which is a little high, but still within my trading range.

santosulikito

Santoso had a rough start on etoro but more recently has been consistently profitable.   He seems to invest in almost everything on etoro, and has chosen to buy into Copy Funds as well, which I haven’t seen much of with the top traders.    I’m not entirely sure how copy funds work with copy trading yet, and that’s something i’ll be checking with etoro.

Dimitrios1

One of the older profiles on etoro, Dimitrios has been trading since 2012.   His performance is a bit up and down but has been profitable for the past few years.    So far in 2017 he has had 3 bad months.  Hopefully he can turn it around for the rest of the year.

Sweitlik

Another stock trader.  He returned a profit of 11% in 2016.  2017 has been off to a slowish start for him.  Will be interesting to watch how he performs over the coming months.

If you’re new to copy trading and aren’t ready to jump in, then I recommend getting a free practice account on etoro.  You can practice copy trading, and simulate a portfolio.   I often copy someone using my practice account before copy trading under my real account.  This way I can see first hand how they perform.
