Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette – $65
Last year I was making an effort to venture out and try different makeup brands. That’s how I ended up with the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette. I sort of bought it on a whim, if I’m honest. I’d done no prior research or read any reviews on Huda Beauty. So, will I be trying any more Huda Beauty products in the future?
As someone with a yellow undertone, I immediately gravitated towards the luscious, warm red, purple, and orange tones in Desert Dusk. Unfortunately… I’m not a fan of this eyeshadow palette due to its disappointing performance. I’m actually actively avoiding using it, which is a shame given how gorgeous these colors are. I genuinely wish I could love this palette, but it’s quite hard to work with. I actually find it harder to work with than the infamous Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Eyeshadow Palette, which I recently reviewed.
Not all of the shades in this palette perform badly, but the majority are a letdown. The mattes are dry, namely Amethyst, Blazing, and Saffron. Amethyst‘s patchy swatch speaks for itself. The glitters have a lot of fallout and don’t apply well because they simply do not hold together (see Cosmo‘s swatch above.)

While I know all brands have their dud products, I don’t find myself particularly gravitating towards any other Huda Beauty products. While you can definitely create a nice makeup look using these beautiful eyeshadows, I think they require far too much work for a $65 palette. So, are there any products from the line I should try out?
