Saying goodbye
A goodbye is never easy to say, but this is what I’m going to do right here, right now.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, after three years with Armchair Media Network, I have decided to leave this company—a company that gave me, a scared 26-year-old (at the time) my first job out of college just before Memorial Day—this on a suggestion from my good buddy, Marc Weems.
When I first started here, I thought this was going to be a short stint until I was able to find something else.
What resulted was nearly three years of live-tweets, late nights, and the occasional early morning for an international MMA card from me, Drew Zuhosky.
I was a Journalism major in college, with a minor in Communication at my alma mater of Youngstown State University, and for the last three years, I was the only full-fledged combat sportswriter in my local area (that I knew of, at least.)
I knew that hard news wasn’t going to be it for me and I always had aspirations to be a sportswriter/sports reporter—and it was this job that gave me my shot to prove that I could do that.
What helped is the fact that I am also a fan of MMA—and these last three years have given me relationships in the MMA community that I could never have imagined were possible when I was doing photo-ops during my commencement inside Beeghly Center at YSU the weekend before Mother’s Day in 2017.

Thank you to all of the combat sports organizations out there for putting on cards week in, week out since I’ve been here.
Thank you for allowing me to be an ambassador to our great sport.
In closing:
In closing, I want to offer one piece of advice to the young people out there, particularly those about to graduate college:
Follow your dreams.
If you follow your dreams and believe in yourself, there’s no limit to what you can do.
I hope to continue working as a combat sportswriter/content creator in some context—and rest assured, I’ll see you guys down the road.
