Another review coming at ya for a Brooklyn Grooming product. Today, we’ll be looking at their Cream Pomade. The one produced by BG is a bit more oily, but we’ll get into that a bit more in depth below.
Design
The Pilgram’s Cream Pomade brings us back to the standard 4 oz amber glass container with aluminum top. The sticker label is something that’s very pleasant to look at. A matte black background with metallic gold print makes this an aesthetic bonus to have in your restroom or wherever you have your products. It falls in line again with the Traditional American art.
Scent
Listed as: Wild orange and cedar wood. Definitely getting a bit of both, but again, the wild orange comes out a bit stronger, leaving you with this nice sweet aroma of citrus.
Consistency
Thick but light at the same time. Think of it as a whipped up version of an oil based formula, so there’s a nice lightness to it while still feeling oily.
Application
Because of how “wet” it is from the oiliness, the application is easy and with little friction.
Shine
It’s advertised as a matte product, but I’m getting a pretty damn good amount of shine from it.
Texture
Slickness is high, so the texture itself isn’t messy or layered too much.
Strength
A strong hold, but on the lighter spectrum. It’s a soft product, so things are very malleable. It lasted me a good chunk of the day, but the overall strength isn’t to the degree of a traditional clay or wax.
Control
Slick amount of control. Things are held nicely in place.

Endurance
Lasts really well for the first 3-4 hours, before the heat and general activity wore it down. Luckily, it’s an oil based enough product that restyling it isn’t a big problem at all.
Restyling
Easy
Greasy
Light. You’ll need to rinse or wash your hair with shampoo every 2 or 3 days before buildup gets to a point where it may be too greasy.
Dryness
None
Rinsing
One shampoo and you should be able to get everything out

Conclusion
The Brooklyn Grooming: Pilgram’s Wild Orange and Cedarwood Matte Cream delivers a nice soft touch with an oil based presentation. Slick with a slight shine, it was a bit opposite of what I’d expect from a cream, but then again, creams can come in whatever way they want. The nice earthy orange peel type of scent leaves me relaxed and soothed, and I’m won over by all the scents from each product. Brooklyn Grooming is definitely killing it in this area. One thing I’d like to see improve on this would be the shine aspect, as well as a bit more hold. Otherwise, it’s a light product to add into your rotation.
