A little bit different from the two products from Hair Craft Co. Over the summer, they revamped and rebranded and redesigned, and along with this came a new sea salt spray. This past year, we’ve seen a lot of sea salt spray come into the market with varying effects. Today, we’ll take a look at what the Hair Craft Co Sea Salt Spray has to offer.

Design

The Sea Salt Spray comes in a 6 oz plastic bottle with the same branding and design as the gel and clay counterparts. The nozzle works fine, and is very standard for spray bottles. Everything again is matte black, which creates a clean presentation, especially with the shiny foil print.

Scent

Hard to pinpoint, but it falls along the lines of being a deeper “masculine” or cologne type of scent. Not overpowering or annoying, but still very present when you’re using the product.

Consistency

It’s a spray

Application

Pss Pss. Make sure you’re about 8-12 inches away from your hair to disperse things evenly. Other than that, use your fingers to work things throughout.

Shine

Super matte

Texture

This allowed for a bit of texture, creating a bit of separation throughout. Definitely along the lines of that beach hair.

Strength

A super light hold. You’re able to style very slightly, but don’t expect to be able to pull your hair back. This is more to clean things up a bit and move your hair out of the way if needed.

Control

Little, like very little. It’s a sea salt spray, and not a pomade.

Endurance

The less you mess with it, the more it’ll last throughout the day. But, it doesn’t necessarily disappear. The product simply sets in and stays there until it’s either washed away or somehow taken off your hair.

Restyling

Not much of a restyling process in general, but more of a cleaning things up slightly.

Greasy

None

Dryness

None

Rinsing

Water is this product’s kryptonite.

Conclusion

Above is the Sea Salt Spray being used in conjunction with the Hair Clay. Overall, it adds a bit more hold and texture. Think of it as adding a bit of a foundation to the hair clay. Still very similar outcome as to using the Hair Clay alone, but the Sea Salt Spray adds a bit more “casualness” to the hair. A bit looser of a look. The Sea Salt Spray is a good competitor with other sea salt sprays on the market. I think at this point, if you’re trying to jump onto this type of product, the biggest differentiation would be the scent, and how much of an actual hold you want. I typically think of it as a lazy hair do type of styler, and not along the lines of giving you the actual means to do anything close to a slickback or pomp.
