Avionics (AVS) is a business unit of Thales Australia that
provides training and simulation solutions to defence for air, land and sea
platforms, and avionics systems for the MRH-90 and ARH Tiger Helicopters to the
Australian defence force as well as ongoing support for the ADATS program. AVS
also provides Through Life Support for its solutions.

The Systems Engineer provides engineering and
technical support for engineering activities in bids and projects and is accountable
for ensuring the delivery of quality engineering solutions in response to
project and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities of this Role Include:

Understand customer
needs - requirements elicitation, analysis and development for new proposals
including those resulting from Engineering Change Proposals on supported
systems

Ensure traceability of
all requirements throughout the entire system development cycle and for all
components

Development of mission /
function description, architectural design and requirements documents

Support or conduct of
trade/trade-off studies to assist with selection of solutions and/or associated
equipment, taking into account customer requirements, technical solutions,
costs and risks

Support Integration,
Verification, Validation and Qualification activities as necessary

Support configuration
management of artefacts and products

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Required Include:

Professional
qualification majoring in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or other related technical
systems and/or software fields

Eligible for recognition
by Engineers Australia (IEAust)

Practical experience in
electrical, electronic, communication and information technology systems and
the implementation of these systems

Knowledge of quality concepts,
standards, systems and programs and their importance to the organisations
success

Self-motivated,
proactive, detail orientated and organised

Thales Underwater
Systems (UWS) is a global leader in advanced Sonar systems and for more than 2
decades  has been responsible for
delivering systems to both civilian and military customers. We are currently
seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities for this role Includes:

Requirements design and analysis at the customer
and product level

Conducting requirements impact assessments
resulting from Engineering Changes

Managing the systems development of compliance
matrices and system verification processes

Management and control of requirements (existing
and in development) utilising the company mandated DOORS database tool

Supporting the Systems Engineering Manager in
the implementation of systems engineering processes

Preparing Systems Engineering Management Plans
(SEMP), formal test plans and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience Required Include:

Engineering/Science
Degree qualified and able to meet the requirements for membership of IEAust

Greater
than 3 years’ experience in hardware and/or software product development and
requirements analysis

Large
scale integrated system design and development experience in one or more of the
following domains: combat systems, radar, sonar, ESM, communications systems

Experience
with systems design and development

Experience
of systems operational test and evaluation

Experience
in one or more of the following is desirable but not essential: combat systems,
military communications, EIA632 Processes, SCADA, PLC's or Train Control.

Position Title: Technical Specialist – Validation

Location: Toronto

Job Purpose:

Technical Specialist - Validation participates in System Design to develop requirements that can be practically validated & defines the methods of validation.

Key accountabilities include preparing test plans, procedures and reports to validate specified requirements. Perform tests in-plant and at project sites in accordance with these test plans and procedures. In this role, you will Plan, estimate, direct and lead Project V&V work.   Write test automation scripts.

• Performs analysis of system, subsystem and software requirements to define validation methods, and test cases

• Plans the V&V Project work, including the preparation of V&V test plans

• Prepares Test Objectives

• Plans and performs integration and test activities in-house and at project sites to mitigate the key project commissioning risks

• Provides expert analysis and recommendations to resolve system integration and commissioning problems and risks

• Provides expert advice and recommendations to increase the efficiency with which V&V work is performed both in plant and at project sites

• Prepares Test Procedures in accordance with V&V test plans

• Performs commissioning tests in plant and at project sites

• Prepares test reports which record the pass, fail status of planned tests and identify problems detected during the tests

• Directs and reviews the work of more junior staff performing V&V work

• Supervises test staff both in-plant and in the field in assignments/tasks, ensuring application of standards, practices/procedures, quality assurance, and adherence to budgets

• Trains and develops the skills of more junior staff

• Develops product knowledge through formal and informal training, OJT, and self-study.

• Investigates test anomalies through analysis of data files, design documentation and interaction with development departments

• Prepares problem reports in the defect tracking system describing test failures and defects

• Form and lead dedicated Project V&V Teams

• Comply with schedule and budget constraints to test programming

• Keep current with company test processes and methods

• Perform traceability analysis

• Perform design reviews

• Assist in development of V&V processes and tools.

• Produce Test Automation scripts

• Optimize in-house testing vs field testing

• Produce overall test and verification strategy

• To liaise with the Customer on test and verification related topics

• To produce the system and subsystem verification matrix

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• B. Sc. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent

• Substantial experience in real-time testing of embedded real time systems or equivalent software or hardware test experience

• Computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheet, and databases is essential. Computer literacy using special application software such as problem tracking, requirement management and parsing software

• Knowledge of transit rail system and particularly SELTRAC products is a significant asset

• Demonstrated fluency and understanding/comprehension in oral and written English

• Understands basic engineering management practices for project planning and scheduling

• Field experience in a rail transit installation, test or support environment or similar technology application is of significance

• Experience in task planning, including estimation, performance tracking and reporting

• Engineering risk and decision making process is desirable

Vous maitrisez parfaitement :

Linux, Android, Java, C, C++, Cryptographie, Role Based Access Control/SE Linux, Firewall, Système de détection d’Intrusion/SNORT, Authentification des Utilisateurs/LDAP, Communication réseau sécurisée (SSL/TLS, OpenVpn, …)

Le système IFE AVANT est un système distribué à bord de l’avion et de plus en plus connecté au monde extérieur.
Le centre de compétences Missions & Fonctions est un contributeur incontournable au développement de logiciel IFE en relation avec la BU IFS à Irvine (Californie). Il participe aussi à la définition et à l’intégration du système.

Au sein de l’équipe de développement du logiciel IFE, vos missions en tant qu’ingénieur cybersécurité sont les suivantes :

- être le point focal de l’équipe « sécurité » localisée à Irvine,

- intervenir de manière transverse sur l’ensemble des équipes scrums pour orienter et coacher les développements relatifs à la sécurité,

- identifier les améliorations nécessaires pour renforcer la sécurité globale du système logiciel,

- prendre en compte les contraintes de sécurité au plus tôt pour aider architectes et product owner,

- supporter l’équipe système en phase de définition et d’IVV,

- suivre la veille technologique de la cybersécurite et en particulier la découverte de nouvelles vulnérabilités et de leur solution.

Au-delà de l’expertise cybersécurité, vous devrez contribuer au développement et à la mise au point des composants logiciels développés en C/Java sur un OS linux ainsi que sur les interfaces graphiques se basant sur un framework Android, QT/QML ou Web (HTML/PHP/JS).
