As you may know TEDxAmsterdam is heading towards a special milestone: the 10th edition. On 29 november 2018 we will reach The big X. We’ll get back to you on our plans for that soon, first-off we would like to introduce to you two new members of our core team: Jacqueline van de Wiel (Executive Director) and Mie Dries (Board member).
The brand new Executive Director: Jacqueline van de Wiel
Who you gonna call when sh*t hits the fan? Ghostb… Nope, you call the Executive Director. This vital role within the core of TEDxAmsterdam makes good things happen and bad things go away. So, it requires someone special. And ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to say: we’ve got her!
“TEDxAmsterdam for me is an opportunity to broaden my perspective of the environment we live in and a means to inspire each other on how to improve its long term well-being. I hope to contribute to that, by helping to enable and keep up the impressive platform that TEDxAmsterdam has become over the last decade.”
Meet Jacqueline van de Wiel! The former Lead (event) producer for TEDxHilversum is stepping up her game at TEDxAmsterdam. Jacqueline lives in Amsterdam (Spaarndammerbuurt) with her partner and 11 months old daughter. When not active for TEDx, she manages a broad range of projects as a freelance (digital) producer. From European initiatives, research trajectories and events, to agile identity, website and app development. The hands-on type. Perfect for the job.
Completing the Board: Mie Dries
The TEDxAmsterdam Board consisted of Paul Rispens and Monique van Dusseldorp and was in need of some extra power. Enter Mie Dries.
“If I think of TEDxAmsterdam, I think of inspiration and fun, great ideas and creative minds, connecting people within the city and far beyond. The 10th edition means for me a great opportunity to show we are still here to rock your mind and move your soul.”
We already knew her as the power behind our successes with the livestreams by We Are Live, formerly known as Feller Media. The company, run by Mie Dries and Marck Feller, has been our video partner since the beginning of TEDxAmsterdam. They facilitated and developed formats for the livestream and other video productions. Formally important behind the scenes, now also important at the heart of it all: the board. She looks forward to taking TEDxAmsterdam to the next level. Starting with a bang: the 10th edition.
With these two power ladies in our midst, TEDxAmsterdam is ready to rumble.

Since TEDxAmsterdam first opened its event doors in 2009, it has grown into a spectacular annual event sharing the message of ¨ideas worth spreading¨. But we are much more than that! We are a warm and creative workplace. Every year the sea of red t-shirts, our fantastic TEDxAmsterdam volunteers, are ever-present and always ready with a smile.
