Nostalgia revisited! Nokia’s iconic Nokia 3310 phone with an almost indestructible body and long battery will be unveiled at MWC 2017

Relaunched Nokia 3310 would cost $62 and be promoted as a second phone for users yearning for simpler times.

Writing this article gives me goosebumps! I will explain why! Even though I currently own a Samsung smartphone and an iPhone, I will always have a special connection with Nokia. You may want to know how? It is because the popular “Nokia 3310” was my first ever mobile phone that I had purchased for myself. And I never thought I would have the opportunity to own one again.

The unbreakable Nokia 3310 was originally launched in 2000, which later retired in 2005. Now, seventeen years later after its original launch, a ‘modern version’ of the Nokia 3310 is all set to make a comeback in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona later this month. The feature phone was the world’s best-selling phone of its time with 126m units being sold. It had a nearly indestructible build and a battery that lasted for days, which made it an iconic phone in early 2000.

Nostalgia is a dish best served in the past. Leave the #Nokia3310 where it should be, don't sully the memory unnecessarily.

HMD Global Oy, the Finnish manufacturer with exclusive rights to the Nokia brand, is probably looking to cash on the Nokia 3310 nostalgia by bringing back the iconic device. This device will cost €59 and compete directly with the increasing number of low-end Android smartphones. The manufacturers are purposely targeting the European and North American consumers to take advantage of the huge retro appeal of the model, and their hope is that nostalgic fans will purchase it as a second phone.

If Nokia 3310 is coming back i will be the first one to buy it <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.2.1/72x72/1f60c.png" alt="
