As a fellow cyclist/runner myself, sometimes I need to train from home, and Swift is a fantastic app for that; however, when it comes to streaming the video from your phone/iPad to the TV, it can be a little tricky. In this post, I will show you four easy ways to stream your training to your big TV.

1. Using Apple TV

If you have a 4th generation Apple TV for a newer 4k model, then you can stream fast and easy; this is a great way to broadcast because the devices have excellent communication, and there won’t be any latency in the transmission.

You will need:

Apple TV 4K or an Apple TV 4th generation

Zwift app

Instructions:

Once you’re ready to begin broadcasting the training, swipe up on the screen of the iPhone/iPad, select AirPlay, and then select the Apple TV. Please make sure you’re connected to the same network as the Apple TV; otherwise, you won’t be able to find it.

2. Via Lightning/HDMI Cable

Don’t have an Apple TV? No worries! You can use a Lightning to HDMI adapter or an HDMI cable to connect your device directly to the TV. Please make sure your phone/tablet is fully charged because, with this method, your battery will run out in about 2 hours.

3. Broadcast via mirroring to any Smart TV or Chromecast

Streaming now from your iPhone/iPad now is easier than ever. If you have a smart TV or a Chromecast, you can also mirror the training from your device, follow the instructions below, and you will have Zwift on your TV in no time.

Instructions:

Make sure all devices are connected to the same network.

Swipe up on the screen of the Apple device

Click AirPlay and select the destination device (TV or Chromecast)

The broadcast to your TV should begin right away. Please be advised that Chromecast sometimes might have a delay of 2 – 3 seconds.

4. Screen mirroring from your Android phone to the TV or Chromecast

To stream your Zwift home training you don’t need to have an Apple device, you can do it from your Android without any issues, below are the steps you need to follow.

Instructions:

Make sure you’re on the same WiFi network as the TV.

Swipe down on the screen of your phone

Select Wireless Projection

Wait until the phone finds the TV, then select it.

Wait for a few seconds until the connection is established, and you should be good to go.

Did it work for you? Leave a comment! =)
