Numerous (a total of five) protests are publicly scheduled throughout the city today and they got started at 7am outside Fox29 where activist clandestinely gathered to protest against police brutality. They were also targets for people in cars and eager police officers. Several arrest were made.
Protesters gathered at 4th and Market and shut down the intersection for several hours.
Things escalated when we witnessed several people in cars attempted to drive over protesters as they were expressing their first amendment right to free speech. One woman who deliberately tried to hit a protester was blocked in by protesters and they wouldn’t let her leave demanding she be arrested. Police declined to arrest the woman and things stood still for a while.
At one point things got physical when police made an attempt to remove the woman from her car and the scene by placing her in the back of a police car, activist gathered around her thinking she was being arrested, and demanded she be cuffed.

Most of the events, the largest of which is an anti-police violence protest called “Day of Rage,” are scheduled to start around noon. Each group has scheduled their own event with starting place and time. There also could potentially be other protest not publicly scheduled, like the one this morning.
Also, we have so much video of Dom Giordano being very, very upset at protesters and the lack of police presence at the demonstration. In all fairness, it did take police a solid hour to really get there.

On the plus side, these cute little kids decided to join the protest. At one point they even sprayed the woman’s car with Black Lives Matter flyers.
