We wanted to make you aware of an important change in Sycle that will impact your workflow and the way you edit notes within the Patient Summary and Appointment Summary.

Due to revised HIPAA requirements, Sycle will now provide an audit trail of all Patient Notes and Outcome Notes.  Users will still be allowed to edit previous entries, but all entries will be logged and visible when necessary.  Sycle will capture the information entered and the user that was logged in at the time of data entry, as well as the time and date of entry.

The process of entering a Patient Note remains the same.  Simply access the Notes section via any of the available pathways and enter the information.  Upon clicking save, you will see your entry populate the lower portion of the screen.

If you need to edit or delete an entry in the Notes section,  you must click edit.   The last entry will automatically populate the data entry box.  Make the necessary changes and the edited (or deleted) note will be logged as seen in the screenshot below.

The Notes section of the Patient Summary will display all entries and edits as follows.

The process of entering appointment Outcome Notes also remains unchanged.

Upon clicking save, the Outcome Notes will populate the Appointment Summary screen as usual.

If there is a need to edit the Outcome Note, you can do so by clicking edit on the Appointment Summary screen and proceed to edit the information.  The screen will update with the newest entry upon clicking save.

To see all edits and/or deletions of Outcome Notes for this appointment, simply click edit log.  All entries associated with this single appointment will be displayed for your review.
