Purpose

The Graduate and Apprentice Resourcing team is responsible for sourcing and developing diverse high calibre trainees who are best placed to drive the future success of M&G. The team achieves this through recruiting, developing and managing graduates, interns and apprentices across all areas of the M&G business.

The Resourcing Consultant will take ownership for delivery of recruitment and assessment of candidates for allocated schemes, as well as stakeholder engagement for those schemes. The consultant will also play a key role in supporting the graduate development programme review as well as supporting the day to day management of graduates and apprentices. The Resourcing Consultant will report to the Graduate Resourcing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Attraction and Marketing.

The team are responsible for managing a section of the M&G careers website, organising and planning events, attending careers fairs, advertising on job boards/social media and managing relationships with universities and other recruitment partners. The Resourcing Consultant will be responsible for the successful delivery of elements of the attraction strategy across all channels in conjunction with the rest of the team.

Recruitment and Selection.

The team has developed a number of recruitment processes and tools and place great importance in ensuring that the process is as effective and innovative as possible. The Resourcing Consultant will be responsible for screening candidates throughout the entire assessment process, including video interview, face to face interview and assessment centre stages. The role will also involve the management of candidates through the applicant tracking system, other selection/assessment platforms and providing support for graduate recruitment interviews and assessment days.

Graduate Management

The Resourcing Consultant may provide support to the Resourcing Manager in effectively managing and supporting graduates, interns and apprentices. You will also provide constant

challenge and improvement to the graduate recruitment process throughout.

Stakeholder Management.

Throughout the processes mentioned above the Resourcing Consultant needs to create and maintain strong working relationships across the business with a range of stakeholders in order to successfully engage and deliver to the businesses requirements. Business managers are required to participate in the attraction, recruitment and development stages.

Process and System Review.

In conjunction with the Resourcing Manager and the rest of the team, the Resourcing Consultant will be heavily involved in the review of the end to end process during our summer period. This review includes marketing and attraction strategies, recruitment and selection process and tools and graduate management and development.

Requirements and Experience

Essential:

Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail

Interest in striving for best delivery and improving/developing processes

Good interpersonal skills and an ability to build good working relationships with internal stakeholders

Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and delivery focussed

Ability to keep calm under pressure

Proven track record of assessment and selection, including psychometric tools

Desirable:

Background working in a graduate recruitment role within financial services or another professional corporate environment

An interest in understanding the financial services environment in order to effectively deliver on recruitment needs

Strong academic achievement
