No such thing as get rich quick

Please, don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe in getting rich quick schemes and I don’t believe in magic formulas of making money online either.

After making certain that you understand that, I do think (and know) that it is possible to make money fast on the Internet.

Especially if you’re willing to put in a lot of effort and give your best.

That’s why below I share with you the 5 methods of making money online that really work.

But, please note that these 5 methods will not make you rich overnight, but they are worth it if you need money fast for one reason or another.

For instance, you might need $200 to get your web designed for your newest project, or $100 to pay a bill that unexpectedly showed up.

Depending on your expertise and on how hard you’re willing to work, you could raise this money within a week.

And if you continue working on these methods over a longer term, you could definitely multiply your income because these are all solid online business models.

What is the requirement

Your main and only requirement will be to have a Paypal account.

So, before you continue to try any of the methods I give you below, create a Paypal account. It’s not going to cost you anything.

This step is required because Paypal is the most used platform for online payments.

Paypal allows you to collect money in a wide range of situations.

Another advantage of having a Paypal account is you’re able to purchase goods online with your Paypal funds and in most countries you’ll also be able to transfer your Paypal funds directly to your credit card or bank account.

Now let’s look at the 5 methods of making money online that really work

Before we continue with the methods, I want you to keep one thing in mind:

NEVER SPREAD YOURSELF TOO THIN BY TRYING ALL THE METHODS AT THE SAME TIME!!!

Take a look at all 5 methods and then choose one that fits well with your skills and focus all your energy on that one until you get the desired results.

Method 1: Sell an eBook

To sell information online can be a very profitable business model.

Selling eBooks is one of the fastest and easiest ways to get started in this marketing segment.

Choosing the topic

Even before you can write your eBook, you have to identify a topic for your eBook. What will you write about?

Ideally, your book should be something that will solve a problem people have.

Some examples to get your ideas flowing (according to what you’ve got knowledge about of course):

What to look for when buying a second-hand car

How to become the perfect chef

Basics of body language

Eating healthy on a budget

How to plan the layout of your garden

How to be confident at a job interview

The topics mentioned above all touch on pain points that many people experience and as a result it will be much easier to sell such eBooks.

If you want more insight about people and the problems they are trying to solve, you can visit some online forums like Yahoo! Answers.

Spend some time there, write down a list of problems you identify.

Afterward, evaluate which of them are related to your area of expertise or interest.

This will help writing the eBook much easier.

Writing and creating your eBook

Decide whether you want to sell your book as PDF through a website or do you want to sell it on Amazon.

Why you must decide this first is because the format of the book will be different.

Just remember, if you sell your book on Amazon, you’re bound to them and not allowed to sell the book in another place as well.

When you decided on your topic and where you want to sell your book, start to write your eBook right away.

Aim for at least 30 pages of pure content. But of course, the more the better.

Make certain that the information in your eBook is top-level information.

If it is necessary, do some research online to fill any blanks or to complement your material.

Remember to add some images and proofread the text a couple of times.

Sometimes it’s better to finds someone to proofread it for you. If you don’t have a friend who can do it for you, then you can pay someone on Freelancer to do it.

When you put your mind to it, it is perfectly possible for you to write 30 pages in 3 to 4 days.

Get your head in gear and just do it!!

When your book is finished, you must transform it into a PDF document. If you are using Open Office Suite (free, like Microsoft Office) you can just export as PDF. Before you export it as PDF, make sure everything you want in your book is in place, for instance, page numbers, pictures, headings, Index, etc…

Otherwise, you can also take a look at AVS4YOU‘s document converter. Initially, AVS4YOU is the top ranked site for multi-media tools and (according to me) they have the best Video Editing software on the WEB.

Designing your eBook cover

For your eBook to stand out from the crowd of online marketers, it has to be eye-catching.

If you want to design your cover yourself, you can do it with Canva or Pixel Studio FX.

If you don’t have the confidence to do it yourself, you can hire someone to do it for you, either at Fiverr or Freelancer.

Designing your Sales Page

Now you have to create a sales page for your eBook.

If you already have a blog or website you can create an internal page and use it as a sales page.

If you don’t have a website, you’ll need to buy a domain name and get a hosting plan as explained in this post: How to create a WordPress website in 5 minutes or try to create one for free with Blogger, here’s a light overview on how to create a Blogger site.

Some basic guidelines for creating your sales page:

Hook your visitor’s attention with a catchy headline.

Use a story to explain where you came from, what problems you had and how the information in your eBook helped you solve them.

Focus on the benefits that your customer will get from your eBook.

Include some testimonials. Genuine testimonials, please!! How do you get them? Give a few copies of your eBook away for free in exchange for a testimonial)

Include a 3D cover of the book

Make sure that you have a large and visible “Buy it Now” or “Buy” button at the bottom.

Offer at least a 30-day money back guarantee. Not only will it help to increase your sales because it takes away the risk factor, it will also ensure fewer people filing chargebacks and Paypal disputes.

If you hurry, you can get this eBook on the Emotional hot buttons that will convert your customers into buyers for FREE.

Setting up your Payment and Delivery System

Now you’re going to need a system to accept payments and deliver the eBook automatically.

The easiest way to do this is with E-junkie (if you didn’t choose Amazon kindle)

E-junkie will charge you a fee of $5 monthly, but it’s worth the money.

You just need to configure your account, upload your PDF and get the link where people can buy your eBook.

Set that link on your “Buy it Now!” button and when people click there, they’ll be redirected to Paypal.

The money will go straight to your account and once the payment is confirmed, E-junkie will send the customer and email with his download link.

Other alternatives to use are Gumroad or Clickbank. Follow their tutorials and sell your eBook under digital products.

If you want to sell your books directly from your website, you can do it through plugins like WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads.

With both of these, you can also set the payment gateway to your PayPal account.

What about the price?

Basically, there are 3 price points that perform well with eBooks. They are $4.95, $9.95 and $19.95.

There are eBooks that are priced higher but usually, they have over 100 pages and are published by an established expert/writer or website.

If this is not your case, it is best to start with the lower price to maximize your earnings.

You can also search for eBooks that are close to the same as yours that are already online and see how much they cost.

Driving traffic to your Sales Page

Test your sales page a few times, just to be sure everything is ready and right.

Now it is time to drive traffic to your sales page.

You must remember, here it is a numbers game.

Your conversion rate – the percentage of visitors who will end up buying – will be small no matter what.

The conclusion, the more traffic you send to your sales page, the more money you’ll make.

The first tactic you use to get traffic is to comment on blogs. When you fill in the comment link, point it to your sales page. Make a list of 20 or 30 blogs in your niche and commit to writing a few comments each day on a few of them. Don’t leave too many comments on the same site and the same page or Google will see you as a spammer.

The second tactic is to use online forums. Create an account with the large forums related to your niche (in which you wrote your eBook) and promote your eBook whenever you feel it is fit. You can also put a link to your sales page in your signature at the end of your comment on the forum. Start by answering some questions on the forum first, don’t just start promoting and look spammy, show the people in the forum that you are someone who knows what you’re talking about and your main purpose is to help them. Again, if you want to see results with this, you must join 3 or 4 large forums and post a few posts on each of them every day.

Your third tactic will be to use E-junkie’s or Gumroad’s inbuilt affiliate program and convince some bloggers and webmasters to promote your eBook in exchange for a commission. Make a list of blogs where the audience could be interested in your eBook and approach the blog owner, proposing the affiliate deal. Use Qwory to help you find the Blogger’s contact details. Approach the blog owners and propose the affiliate deal. Consider that 50% commissions are standard in the industry, so if you want to convince large established bloggers, you might need to offer as much as 80% commission of the cover price as an affiliate commission.

Alternatively, you can approach these bloggers and ask to write guest posts for their blogs in which you include a link to your sales page in the byline. This strategy will also allow you to build a relationship with the Blogger too which can be helpful to convince him/her to promote your eBook as an affiliate in the future. Also, consider giving a full copy of your eBook away to this Blogger for them to be able to write an awesome review about your book.

Use social media to drive traffic to your sales page. Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest can have a large impact on your conversions and you should definitely give them a shot. Depending on your eBook, you can also try niche social networks – they will provide you with a more targeted audience.

Remember – you need thousands of people to see your book before you get someone who will definitely buy.

Think about yourself, do you buy every book that you see?

You’ll have to promote daily, I told you, these are not get rich quick schemes, you have to work hard at it.

Some more things to help you forward

Method 2: Affiliate Marketing

If you feel researching and writing an eBook is not for you, you should consider affiliate marketing.

What affiliate marketing is, is basically promoting the products of other companies and they will pay you a commission for each sale or lead you refer to them.

If you are really scared of trodding in unknown waters and feel like you need someone to hold your hand, Wealthy Affiliate is your answer. This is a community of people helping and supporting each other along the way as well as a place where you learn how to do things from start to finish with so much useful information that will take you years to learn on your own.

I love Jay’s webinars the most – they are jam-packed with so much useful information and guidance, you can only be successful.

Another thing before you start building a website and start moving into affiliate marketing, I want you to first do some research. Don’t just jump into it blindly. Read my page about starting websites and go to the links. Read the books I advise you to read.

Please, don’t ever just jump into something blindly.

I’m not negative, I just want to make sure that you’re making the right choice.

Choose your niche right – you want to choose something that you will enjoy working on for years to come.

For instance, because I love make-up and have a few make-up tricks up my sleeve, I thought blogging about make-up would be awesome. But after my third article I learned, my tricks weren’t as many and I don’t like writing about make-up.

Another platform you can take a look at to start building your online presence (or website) is SiteSell (or SBI as they’re also known for). With all the knowledge and support you gain there, you’re bound to make a success of your online site and if you change your mind within 90 days, you’ll get your money back.

Here’s just a small video about what SBI is about:

Deciding between CPS and CPA

Basically, affiliate marketing can be divided into 2 main models, CPS and CPA.

CPS means cost-per-sale – with CPS you’ll earn commissions whenever a visitor you refer to the merchant’s website makes a purchase.

CPS commissions can range anything from $10 up to $100 and even more (especially if you’re and affiliate of huge products, like maybe cars)

CPA on the other hand, is cost-per-action. CPA means you’ll earn commissions whenever a visitor you refer to the merchant’s website perform a required action, like completing a survey or submitting an email address. CPA commissions range from $0.50 up to $2. I even know about CPA’s that pays you $0.20 per click.

Which should you choose? That all depends on your skills. are you good at generating traffic? If you are, CPA might work for you because conversion rates are naturally high since the visitor don’t need to spend any money.

If you’re good with copywriting then CPS might work better. As long as you can convince people to buy, you won’t need as much traffic to make a decent amount of money.

Do you need some help to convince people to buy? Get your copy of Emotional hot buttons that will convert your customers into buyers. If you hurry, you might just get it for FREE.

Finding offers

If you’re looking for the CPA model, you must create an account with a CPA network. One of the best CPA networks on the web is Max Bounty. Max Bounty has a wide range of campaigns and good payouts.

When you first sign up, you have to confirm your email address, then your application is reviewed and someone from Max Bounty is going to call you, so be sure to fill in your details correctly. Then, once your account is active, all you have to do is browse through their market place and look for offers you could promote.

Remember that offers in a niche (like line of interest) should get your preference because you’ll be able to promote them more easily. Either by using your existing Website or contacts or by writing new content related to that offer.

If you want to go for CPS, you’re going to have to make a further choice. Do you want to promote information products like eBooks and training programs or physical goods and services.

For eBooks join Clickbank or E-Junkie.

For physical products you can join ShareASale, LinkShare and Amazon for both.

But these are not the only Affiliate programs you can join, stay tuned as I’ll regularly share programs you can join as an affiliate.

Some are more strict than others and with some, like ShareASale and Linkshare, signing up as an affiliate is only the start. You still have to sign up for the programs from the specific merchants.

If for any reason a merchant rejects you – DON’T EVER TAKE IT PERSONAL.

Chances are, those merchants are after the big dogs and won’t give the starter or little person a chance. Which personally I think is very unfair, but wait until you’ve grown and you’re a big dog, then you can either try to join them again or blow smoke in their faces as you pass by.

Designing your Pre-Sell Page

You must have a landing page to pre-sell your offer because visitors will see your information as an unbiased review of the product they are considering to buy. That is the main goal.

Secondly, the pre-sell page allows you to complement the sales pitch of the merchant, making sure the person you sent there will be ready to buy once he clicks through your affiliate link.

This is very important:  NEVER JUST PROMOTE ANY PRODUCTS JUST TO MAKE MONEY. There are scams out there that makes it look good, but if you promote these products without knowing what it is that you’re selling to your customers and it is some kind of scam – you will NEVER see that customer or those customers again. Do you really think it’s worth it?

I don’t, that is why my promise is always (and I stick with it) – I will never promote anything unless I’ve either tried it myself or tested it out before promoting it to anyone.

Basically, the same principles that I listed above for the eBook sales page apply here to your Pre-Sell page, just some modifications:

Write a catchy headline to hook the attention of your visitors. I like using Co-schedule’s headline analyzer – go ahead, try it. They’re not even going to ask you for your email address. But after you’ve tried a headline, I would say that you will only do yourself a favor if you sign up for their emails and the free eBook.

Tell a story where you explain where you’re coming from, what problems you had and how the product you’re promoting solved your problems.

Focus on the benefits that your visitor will get from the product and not the features.

Review the important aspects of the product and add some pictures or screenshots if applicable. If you review army knives for instance and you bought one. Make a video or take pictures and tell everybody what the great benefits are of that product.

If there are negative aspects, don’t be afraid to point them out. This will make your review a lot more balanced and your visitors will know that you’re true to them. Telling them what you don’t like about the product and chances are they might not like that exact same thing, but because you warned them – they won’t be as upset about it.

Explain to your visitors who would benefit from the product and who won’t. Let’s say this specific army knife will not be suitable for use in the kitchen, but great for hunting or fishing. (Or maybe it won’t work for fishing because the blade is too thick)

Highlight how much it costs and explain why you think it’s worth the money.

Link to the merchant’s website using your affiliate link.

You can also consider using affiliate banners in different positions of your landing page too. This will increase the chances of your visitor clicking through. Just don’t let your page look like a Christmas tree with a flash-flash here and a bling-bling there. It irritates people when they struggle to read between the pictures. Put them in relevant places.

Also, please keep in mind that your pre-sell page is not that important for CPA offers. This is because it is much easier to convince visitors to perform a task that won’t cost them money.

You could test it and compare results.

Driving Traffic to your offers

It doesn’t matter if you want to drive traffic to your pre-sell page or your CPA offers directly, you can use the same methods I mentioned earlier.

These methods include blog comments, posts in online forums, guest blogging and social networks.

You must read this article on how correct comment etiquette can build your brand.

Article marketing is another traffic generation technique that works great with affiliate offers. With this, you’ll write articles on topics that are related to the offers you’re promoting and then submit them to article directories. Most article directories allow you to include a link in the author byline and you can send traffic either to your pre-sell page or directly to your CPA offers.

Here’s a list of 50 top article directories , but please read their guidelines. Most of the time your articles must be original and not self-promotional. Most article directories allow you to include a link in the author byline and you can use that to send traffic either to your pre-sell page or directly to your CPA offers.

If you know a little bit about SEO and linkbuilding, you could try to get your article ranked high for relevant keywords, which will bring you more traffic from search engines.

A warning though, building a niche website around affiliate marketing is a lot of work – especially if you start from knowing absolutely nothing about even building websites. Writing articles, keeping up with social media, building your online presence, etc is going to take a lot of your time. And in return for months to come, you’re not going to generate any income yet. This method takes time, patience, persistence, and PERSEVERANCE.

When you started  – DON’T GIVE UP.

To make a success online, you must persevere

Method 3: Freelance writing

If you like to write and you’re a good writer, freelance writing could be the ideal way to make some money online fast.

Freelance marketplaces

Start by taking a look at the four largest freelance market places:

Upwork (Previously known as eLance)

Freelancer

Guru

Fiverr

Sign up for accounts, which is free and you’ll be able to bid on job requests. (Except with Fiverr where people hire and pay you according to your profile)

What will you do at these freelancer sites? There are all kinds of writing jobs in these market places, including article writing, copywriting, article rewriting and editing, technical writing, researching and so on.

But, you don’t have to stay at writing. Maybe you’re thinking, but I skipped method #1 and #2, because I can’t write.

There must be something you can do. Do yourself a favor and take a look at Fiverr, you will see there is just about any type of Gig you can imagine. Can you master music, create logo’s or draw someone from their photo…think about your talent and what  you can do with it. Visit Fiverr and take a look at the Gigs under that talent. If you don’t find something, it might be better for you – no competition. But be sure that your Gig is legit and that you’re able to deliver top quality. If you want, you can order something you always wanted done on Fiverr to see the superb quality and great service offered there.

I ordered a master of my song there and wow, what amazing work and the file he had to master was not such good quality. (It was done by BasicPro)

When you start out on these freelancer sites, you’ll have to start in the low end of the pay scale, like for example $5 or $10 for a 400-word article, but this is to build up your reputation. Once you get some loyal clients, your earnings will increase.

I regularly say (actually it’s a common saying between business owners) – it takes money to make money and especially with Freelancer and Guru, to build your list of skills (by taking tests), you have to pay. You can also take the paid memberships and if you get accepted for a bid, it costs you money too.

But always remember – don’t add jobs to your profile, bid on jobs or try to do jobs that you can’t do. People will find out and your name will precede you.

Take any freelance job the same as you would any business – what you put in, you’ll get back as a reward.

Put in bad work, receive bad rewards, put in good work, receive good rewards.

Writing for blogs

Would you rather prefer to have a more stable position instead of tackling writing jobs here and there if they’re available?

Then you should look at blogs that are hiring writers.

The pay rate ranges from $5 up to $30 or more per blog post, but if you’re starting out, expect your earnings to be lower.

It’s just like in life, you have to start at the bottom and climb the steps to the top.

The advantage of writing for paying blogs is that you’ll know beforehand how much you’ll make per week since most positions specify how many posts you need to write weekly or monthly.

These jobs you can also find in the freelance marketplaces I mentioned above and then you can take a look at the jobs available on Problogger’s Job Board

Studio D

Studio D Talent network is a company that provides you an opportunity to sign up as a creator or an influencer.

If you sign up as a creator: StudioD will do their homework on who you are and the type of content you create. Then they will bring the partners for the projects to you.

If you sign up as an influencer: You get paid for your Social passion. You built your following and StudioD will give you the opportunity to leverage your creativity for brands and they’ll make sure you get rewarded for it as well.

Method 4: Selling on eBay and Amazon

eBay  and Amazon are the largest online marketplaces.

eBay started out as an auction website, but some years ago it introduced the “Buy It Now” feature, which enabled sellers to sell their items for a fixed price.

If you’re willing to manage product listings and ship stuff all around the world, eBay could be the right place for you to make some money.

Don’t know where to start? Take a look at these courses:

100 Bestselling Courses-How I made $100,000 my 1st year selling on Ebay No inventory
100 Bestselling Courses-Home Business – Amazon FBA – How To Turn $10 Into $15,737

Selling your own things

You can start by selling things around your house that you are not using anymore. For instance furniture, computers, gadgets, collections and any other clutter that is actually just in your way.

When selling these on eBay, the action model might be better to sell these items on, because you’re not sure how much they’re worth.

The above courses will handle everything in detail.

Buying things to sell

Want to take your eBay or Amazon business to the next level? You could start buying products and re-sell them.

First of all you need to choose a product category that you would like to work with, for instance, pet supplies or welding equipment.

Then you can find a wholesaler in your region where you can buy the items in bulk at discounted prices.

In the course on the Amazon FBA business, they discuss how you can find factories to adjust certain products according to your specifications so that you can be the only person selling that specific type of product.

Set up your listings for each item you’re selling. Here, the “Buy It Now” model might work better because it allows you to sell faster and with a defined profit margin.

You can always try both models on eBay and see which one works better for you.

Using a Drop Shipper

Don’t have enough room to put all the stock you’re buying to sell? Don’t want to have trouble storing and shipping the items you’re going to sell?

Try dropshipping.  With drop shipping, you’ll basically just manage the listings on eBay and once an item is purchased, you’ll forward the order and shipping details to the drop shipper together with the money for the product.

Obviously, the price you’ll charge the customer on eBay must be higher than what you’ll pay the drop shipper – that is what will create your profit margin.

The main purpose for using drop shipping is because you won’t need to worry about storing and shipping the items as well as it allows you to sell a much wider range of products because they will be provided directly by the drop shipper.

But a word of warning: You have to be careful when looking for reliable companies. One reliable company you can look at is Wholesale Central. There you can find wholesalers and drop shippers.

Questions you have to keep in mind to ask the company you’re ordering from is:

What is the minimum order volume

Are the products going to be shipped with your name on the stamp

What is the return policy

Before you start with this type of business, do your homework (like doing those courses I mentioned above). I’m sure you’ll agree with me, there is so much more to this business, but with the size this post is already, I can’t mention everything here. I gave you the business model, it’s up to you to run with it.

General Tips to Sell on eBay

To figure out what items you want to sell on eBay is only half of it.

Now you actually have to sell it.

And you must trust me when I say it’s not as easy as it looks.

First of all, you must make sure that your headlines are catchy.

Most of the people using eBay just scan through the listings and only click on the ones that scream for their attention.

Make sure you include appealing images. Not low pixel bad quality pictures. Place the best picture close to the headline and as many closeups as you can in the description of the product.

Also, most eBay users  completely ignore listings without images.

Early on, you must aim to get positive feedback – do whatever you have to that will satisfy your buyers.

Keep your seller rating as high as possible.

Always keep in mind that trust is a major factor when people have to decide whether they are going to buy from you on eBay.

Offer as many payment options as you possibly can. If you don’t there are users who will get skeptical and there are others who will plainly just not be able to purchase the item or bid on the auction.

Charge a fair shipping price. Make sure you learn how to ship sold items as quickly and efficiently as possible. Shipping plays a very important role in the feedback you’ll receive as a seller.

Method 5: Start a fundraiser

We’re at the last method in this post which is to start a Fundraiser.

Where to find fundraiser sites

These are just the biggest ones

Fundrazr,

Go fund me

You caring

How to do your fundraiser

Before you start with your fundraiser, make sure that you know exactly why you need to ask for money.

Take a look at some of the fundraisers already listed to see what people do and how they set up their fundraisers. – NOT TO COPY them, just to get an idea of what you’re doing.

Have your pitch ready as well as some pictures to support your cause.

To increase your chances or receiving funds, add a video and an incentive.

You will find more information about it on the fundraising websites.

Before uploading your fundraiser, check the payment gateways the different fundraising websites are using to be sure that you’ll be able to withdraw your funds when you want/need to.

Give your fundraiser wings

To get more exposure to your fundraiser, you can purchase some more exposure from monster funder.

But please remember, even doing this does not guarantee that you’ll receive anything.

Is this easy money?

Nope, you’re still going to have to work hard especially on social media to promote your fundraiser.

People aren’t as giving as they should be and for you to receive anything, you must either have a very worthy cause or family members to start you off so that you can have donations as you promote – that will inspire other’s to give more.

My fundraiser story

In January this year, my hubby had a massive heart attack, his heart actually stopped 7 times. After the first 2 times, they resuscitated him they put him on life support.

To make a long story short, he survived, but his heart suffered severe damage.

He went back to work, but relapsed and had to quit working.

He was an artisan, which is not just a physically hard working job, but a job that paid well too.

No matter how hard I work, I can not substitute his income and tried to do a fundraiser to help.

After a week of receiving NOTHING, I removed it, because I’m not going to beg people for money and humiliate myself when no-one wants to give.

And the worst part, I did pay monster funder for more exposure as well.

Why am I telling you this?

Just in case you think that this looks like easy money – it’s not.

Was this helpful?
