Marriage and civil partnerships
02/09/2016: the British embassy in Baku is clarifying with the authorities in Azerbaijan whether consular same sex marriages can be performed at the embassy. Please note we are not able to provide a consular same sex marriage service until this issue is clarified.
We can issue certificates of no impediment, affirmations or affidavits of marital status and, in some circumstances, perform a marriage or civil partnership for British nationals. For information on getting married in Azerbaijan see getting married abroad.
