COLOSSEUM is back! On Sunday, October 23, at noon EDT, get ready to duel it out with other teams in COLOSSEUM 2!
Overview
Colosseum is returning on Sunday, October 23rd! It will be similar to the original, but there are some changes that have been made to the rules to create a more enjoyable tournament to participate in. The tournament will still be a double elimination format if less than 16 teams sign up, and a pools to single elimination format if 16 or more teams sign up. Signups end on October 22nd at 8 EDT; this time will not be pushed back.
Rules Changes
Teams must now submit rosters, and must use only players on that roster. Teams may not use off-roster substitutions in the tournament.
Before, the whole double elimination tournament was Best of 5, aside from Grand Finals. No longer: Colosseum 2's double elimination format features a Best of 5 Winners Bracket, and an entirely Best of 3 Losers Bracket, aside from the Best of 5 Losers Finals. Grand Finals remains Best of 7. (The pools to single elimination format remains unchanged in game count)
Sets now have tighter time limits. Best of 5 sets must be completed in 40 minutes, Best of 3 sets must be completed in 30 minutes, and Best of 7 sets must be completed within 60 minutes. Sets will be cut short if they go over the time limit to improve tournament speed.
Both teams must be completely in the room within 10 minutes of the first attempted contact by either side. Failure to do so results in a choice for the rule-abiding team, to accept the penalty and have the rule-breaking team forfeit Game 1, or to decline and play it out anyways.
Teams have 5 minutes to substitute players after telling the opposing captain of a substitution. Teams that fail to substitute within five minutes automatically forfeit a game.

The IGNs of all teams' members will be put in this spreadsheet to ensure that teams do not make off-roster substitutions. It is up to the players and captains to check these throughout the tournament if they suspect an illegal substitution. The Discord names and NNIDs of captains will also be in this spreadsheet.
