New with Sports Tours International for 2017
Bike Rental
We have massively expanded our bike rental offering for the 2017 cycling season. Many of our multi-day tours now offer the option to add bike rental. The bike will be available for you on arrival and then collected when you depart. All you need to bring is a helmet, pedals and cycling clothes.
Overland bike transport from the UK
As part of our collection of race and travel services for travelling cyclists, we offer a convenient overland bike transport service. We understand that not everyone is too keen on taking their bike on a flight, either because they have had a bad experience or they do not want to take any risks with potential damage or loss. We therefore offer a DOOR TO DOOR overland bike transport service for fully assembled bikes so no need for a bike box. Watch our VIDEO here on how it works

The Cape Town Cycle Tour – 40th edition
The Cape Town Cycle Tour is the largest timed amateur cycling event in the world and in 2017 this fantastic cycling event celebrates its 40th edition so don’t miss out.
Paris – Nice – 75th edition
The Paris-Nice is celebrating its 75th edition in 2017 and we are joining into the anniversary celebrations of this classic stage race by offering exclusive VIP hospitality on the Promenade des Anglais on the start and finish of the final stage. A city centre hotel in Nice is also available. For the cyclists we also offer the opportunity to ride the Paris – Nice Challenge amateur cycling event on the Saturday before to make this into a brilliant early season cycling weekend.
Tour of Flanders VIP experiences
We have been coming to ‘De Ronde van Vlaanderen’ for years and it is one of our favourite cycling spring classics. Apart from our ever popular Tour of Flanders weekend trips to ‘Ride and Watch’ the Cyclo and Pro race, for the 2017 edition we will also offer 1, 2 or 3 nights at a 4 star Ghent city centre hotel and the option to buy exclusive VIP hospitality experiences to make your weekend extra special.
Paris – Roubaix VIP experiences
What an exciting event the 2016 Paris Roubaix was!. Fast and furious, incredible speed and an unexpected but deserved winner in Austrailian Matt Hayman of Orica Green Edge. “The queen of classics” is a formidable and exciting race, considered by many to be the best one day classic cycling race to watch. VIP access and hospitality for the 2017 Paris – Roubaix is now available. You will see the start of the ‘Hell of the North’ in Compiegne followed by a viewing point en-route plus the finish in the Roubaix Velodrome or you can choose just the finish hospitality at the Velodrome.
The Amstel Gold Race
The 52nd edition of the Amstel Gold Race will take place on the 16th of April 2017 with the Sportive version of the event taking place the Saturday before so the 15th of April. This weekend gives you the opportunity to ride the sold out Amstel Gold Race Sportive event before seeing the riders come past several times on the Sunday in Valkenburg after you have seen the start in Maastricht. The Amstel Gold Race is the Netherlands’ biggest UCI cycling event and attracts a big field of top pro riders. The event is part of the series of cycling’s Spring Classics which take place every year in April in Holland, Belgium and northern France.
Ardennes Classics Tour
If you want to spend a bit longer at the 2017 cycling spring classics then why not join us on our Ardennes Classics tour? The 3 classic cycling events taking place in April after the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix are the Amstel Gold Race, the Fleche Wallonne and the Liege Bastogne Liege. These are commonly referred to as the ‘Ardennes Classics’ even though the Amstel Gold race takes place in Holland and goes nowhere near the Ardennes. Join us for 10 days in April following the 3 Ardennes Classics. After the 2017 Amstel Gold race Sportive you can see how it should be done the following day when the professionals take to the hills of Southern Holland. Midweek, we will go to Huy for the Fleche Wallonne and we will be rounding our tour off with the riding and watching the historic Liege Bastogne Liege. There will be plenty of time in between to ride this fantastic area.
Fleche Wallonne hospitality on the Mur de Huy
The one-day cycling classic La Fleche Wallonne is one of three ‘Ardennes classics’ and has been part of the UCI world rankings calendar since 2009. It takes place every April in the Wallonia region of Belgium, and is currently staged midweek between the Amstel Gold Race and Liège–Bastogne–Liège. The finish of the race featured three laps of a circuit including the tough Mur de Huy climb, with several sections steeper than 15% and one section rising to 26%. The finish was at the top of the Mur after the third ascent. The “Finish”on the Mur de Huy is the ‘place to be’ to watch all the action and the outcome of this race. The Mur De Huy is 1.3kms long with an average of 9.6%. It starts easy before ramping up and dropping below 10% with a maximum of 26%. With the 2 passages of the female race and the 3 passages of the male race, you will be at the heart of all the action.
Liege Bastogne Liege VIP hospitality
New for 2017 is VIP hospitality at the start and/or the finish of the 2017 Liege Bastogne Liege with or without a hotel stay in the centre of Liege. If you book both start and finish hospitality with our hotel then transport is included. Liege-Bastogne-Liege is the oldest of cycling’s classics. First run in 1892, Liege Bastogne Liege, or LBL as it is also called, takes you through the hilliest parts of Belgium, along routes typical of the Ardennes.
Gran Fondo Nove Colli
Entries for the 2017 Nove Colli sold out on the event website in 3 minutes!! We are pleased to offer guaranteed entry into the 2017 Gran Fondo Nove Colli. Our travel package includes the services of our bike guide, airport transfers from Bologna airport and 3 nights at a 4 star hotel in central Cesenatico with views across the Adriatic sea. Breakfasts and evening meals are also included. The Nove Colli Gran Fondo is one of Italy’s original and oldest Gran Fondo events. The Gran Fondo of the 9 hills takes place in and around Cesenatico on the Adriatic coast, also known as the place where Marco Pantani grew up and trained. The event is tough with a distance of 200km to be conquered and 3800 metres of climbing across, you have guessed it; 9 hills. The shorter 130km distance takes you across 4 hills.
Gran Fondo Mont Ventoux
The Gran Fondo Mont Ventoux Beaumes de Venise is brought to you by the same team behind La Marmotte, and is part of the Grand Trophée France series. The formula is the same as the Marmotte, with a gruelling ride on the Saturday, including the iconic Giant of Provence, with the option to test yourself against the clock on the Sunday with a Time Trial.
Haute Route Rockies
At Sports Tours International we have supported cyclists on each and every Haute Route event since the very first one in 2010 and we are pleased to continue this with the new Haute Route in the Rockies. New for 2017 is the first Haute Route on North American soil, the 2017 Mavic Haute Route Rockies. Like the European Haute Route events, with professional level event organisation including medical and mechanical support, rolling road security, film crews and, of course, massages, you will be 100% immersed in the world of cycling for seven unforgettable days.
2017 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships
We are pleased to be official tour operator for the 2017 UCI Gran Fondo World series. The UCI Gran Fondo World Series (former UCI World Cycling Tour) is a series of UCI-sanctioned amateur cycling races held all over the world. Some 19 qualifier events will enable the top 25% in each age group to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Albi where they are representing their country. The UCI Gran Fondo World champions are awarded with the coveted rainbow jersey which is theirs to wear for the year.
Haute Route Ventoux
New for 2017 is the Haute Route Ventoux. The town of Bédoin at the base of the Mont Ventoux will be the base of this 3 day Cyclo-Sportive. The inaugural Haute Route Ventoux is set to take place from the 6th-8th October 2017. We are pleased to offer travel packages with airport transfers, staff support, hotel in Bedoin and guaranteed entries to the 2017 Haute Route Ventoux. The inaugural Haute Route Ventoux will consist of 3 timed stages, finishing with an individual time trial up to the summit of Mont Ventoux. The 3 day event will cover a total of 270km, with over 7,500m of climbing.
