The Spicewood Elementary School team, consisting of Colin Johnson, Neha Poreddy, Arsh Gupta, Dhruv Pathak, David Lewe, and Librarian Laura Reeb, placed second in the sixth annual RRISD Battle of the Bluebonnets. The Battle of the Bluebonnets challenged teams of five students from 31 Round Rock ISD elementary schools to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of books they read throughout the year.
The top three teams will receive on-field recognition in front of their friends, family, educators and classmates during “Reading Day at Dell Diamond” this spring. The event was held in partnership with the Round Rock Express and hosted by KVUE Morning Anchor Bryan Mays.
“Round Rock ISD is dedicated to growing student leaders at all levels,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “Readers make great leaders and It’s outstanding to see students getting excited about reading and showcasing their knowledge.”
