Luxemburg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn underlined his country's enthusiasm for increasing cooperation with Iran in economic and banking fields.

"During the trip, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed by the two countries on joint cooperation in investment," Asselborn said in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Monday.

He also stressed his country's interest in signing a double taxation avoidance agreement with Iran and start of negotiations to cooperate in air transportation.

Asselborn called for further mutual cooperation in economic, IT, banking and data processing arenas.

Zarif, for his part, underscored Iran's determination to cooperate and develop relations with all EU members, specially in banking ties and transactions, with Luxemburg.
