I’ve long been a fan of bareMinerals and their brilliant beauty products, so when they offered me a ‘make-under’ to experience the new barePRO foundation, I gladly accepted the invitation, and headed to their stand in Fenwick, Tunbridge Wells to see what the new makeup could do for me.

barePRO is a mineral pressed powder made of 90% vitamins and minerals that is designed to be lightweight, breathable and to last 12 hours. Apparently, it’s especially good for wedding makeup, and as a bride-to-be myself, I was keen to see whether it really lived up to its promise. As someone who has been skeptical about mineral foundations in the past, I was intrigued to see whether this one really would stand the test of time.

My bareMinerals experience begins with beauty ambassador Caitlin assessing my skin, and after deciding I have combination skin, she uses a tailored skincare range to cleanse, tone and moisturise my face as well as remove my existing makeup.

The first stage of applying the foundation is to create a good base for it to stick to, so Caitlin uses the Prime Time original primer (£23) to even out my skin and to help the foundation last longer. Then, she applies the bareSkin complete coverage serum concealer (£22), which feels amazing and does a great job of concealing and brightening at the same time.

Then, it’s time to try the new foundation out. Using the Core Coverage Brush (£24) Caitlin buffs away at the barePRO Powder Foundation (£27), before using a sweeping motion to apply to my skin. I’m amazed at how quick the application process is – in just a few minutes I have a full face of foundation. As someone who is always looking for a shortcut when it comes to makeup, I think I may have found the perfect one. I can definitely see how this would appeal to someone with a busy lifestyle or with kids who wants to look glamorous in a short space of time.

Caitlin sets the foundation with the Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo (£28) which gives a really natural glow, then applies a blusher and a bronzer to give my cheeks a little extra colour.

Eyes are up next, and after applying a primer again, she then uses The Escape Duo and The Enlightenment Duo (£21 each) to create shading on my eyelids for a natural, subtle smoky look. Eyeliner follows, then the Lash Domination mascara (£19) and a brow powder (£14) to give my eyebrows better definition and frame my face.

Last but not least is the gorgeous, shimmery Marvellous Moxie Lipgloss (£17). I’m not usually a gloss fan, but this doesn’t feel sticky at all.

Then, it’s time for the big reveal. Being a ‘make-under’ I’m not sure what to expect, but staring back at me in the mirror isn’t a bare-faced nightmare, and I’m pleasantly surprised with the results!

VERDICT: I loved the ‘make-under’ and the fact it was so quick to apply all of the products to achieve a lasting look. The barePro foundation stayed put for hours and looked as good when I went to bed as it did when it was applied. In fact, I love it so much I’ve bought it and the brush, and have been recommending it to all my friends. If you’re looking for something lightweight and durable, this is perfect, and it’s also a great foundation to consider if you’re getting married or going to a big event as it looks natural but gives full coverage.
