1. Complete your profile:

Choose attractive, bright and high-quality image as your cover photo.

5. Engage Influencers:

6. Follow Your Competitors:

Find out your competitors Pinterest account, find out what they are actually doing on Pinterest and learn from their actions. If you follow your competitors, they do it for you as well.

It is fine to share your own blog content. Put some effort into choosing interesting images for your blog in the first place. This will naturally interest pinners into sharing it further.

When you join community boards within your business sector, you reach a highly-targeted audience that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. They not only reach to the contributor board but also allow users to follow the community board. Really, it’s a great place to find relevant content to pin.

Pinterest has its own analytics platform so it is the best way to track your profile and engagement growth, find your top influencer and repinners and measure your competition.

10. Include Rich Product Pin to Your Site:

Rich Pins are Pins that include extra information right on the Pin itself. While adding the rich pin to your site might sound like a daunting task, it’s really not. All it takes a basic knowledge of embed, schema.org and Open Graph.

11. Focus on Image Quality:

Pinterest is all about visuals. The more interesting image you post, the more likely people on Pinterest are to look at it. If you post high quality and attractive images on your blog posts, people will more likely to pin those as well.

12. Use Keyword in Your Descriptions:

If you want to see your Pinterest account in a search result, then include relevant keywords in your profile and boards descriptions that relate to your business.

13. Use Different Image to Link Back to Your Site:

If you have an old blog post that you would like to promote on Pinterest and the original article doesn’t have a pinnable image then upload a Pinterest friendly image. Simply, click on “+”on your Pinterest page and select “upload a pin”.

If you have recently started using Pinterest then take advantage of other networks to grow your followers and engagement. You can tweet about your new pin board on Twitter. This way you can promote your Pinterest account.

Don’ts of Pinterest Marketing Strategy:

1. Don’t Post Low-Quality Image:

As everyone knows Pinterest is the visual platform so don’t post a poor quality image. Whether you pin your product or something your audience would find interesting, post an attractive image. Make sure anything you post that represents your brand.

2. Don’t Ignore Group Board:

Group boards are community boards for invited members to pin on the same topic. The sorts of boards you want to participate in are well curated, have a member of active members and moderators are quick to remove people who violate the spirit of the group board.

3. Don’t Just Pin Your Own Content:

You should not pin your own content always. Rather than just pinning your own content, pin content related to your business, interesting images, quotes and mix in your products and articles. Add the relevant keyword to your description and Keep your profile specific to your company so that everyone can search you on Pinterest easily. This way you more and more people can connect with you and increase your follower as well.

6. Don’t Leave Empty or Incomplete Board:

No one likes to follow or connect with you if you have an incomplete profile or empty board. Some marketers pin one or two pins and don’t login regularly. This will affect your brand. If you don’t have enough content to pin on board regularly then you can use a secret board and keep pinning it and when you have enough pins you can share it one by one according to your requirement.

7. Don’t Forget to Add Pin it Button to Your Site:

Undoubtedly, Pinterest makes it easy to add a social share button to your website. This makes it easier for users to share your images and you can also more easily control what images from your site are shared.

8. Don’t Use Too Many Hashtags:

Don’t use too many hashtags in your pin description or your profile because hashtag on Pinterest doesn’t work the same as they do on Twitter or Instagram.

9. Don’t Pin Anything and Everything:

Don’t make this mistake because pinning everything and anything clutter your pin boards. Don’t afraid to pin interesting content that your target audience would enjoy and that’s at least just connected to your business.

10. Don’t Pin All Your Pins into One Board:

Instead of pinning all images into one board, you need to pin images into a different board. This way your board looks appealing and attractive and you will get more followers on your board.
